^ what he said, but worse

one day I should buy a real phone that I can stick with but I like the idea of having something I don't care about, something that wont break if I drop it. Or cost 800$ for that matter... That money is enjoyed better when its not wasted on a phone for me

Buy a used flagship of yesteryear and squeeze the life out of it. (Bought S2 after S3 release, used it till 2016)

I'm the next moron who bricked his phone and has no Nandroid.
So I, too, need the stock recovery to be able to flash a stock ROM...

It took them ages (and iirc it took months) for them to post the stock images for the OP2

If you want stock recovery someone with an unmodified op3 needs to unlock bootloader and fast boot boot (BOOT NOT FLASH) twrp image and install root. Then from there install flashify and make a backup of the recovery image.

Yeah i tried fastboot boot but doesnt work, it just boots to stock recovery. So unless i am doing something wrong, there does not seem to be a way at the moment.

Yes but that was the whole point right? (at least for me), get back to stock rom with TWRP, for me the stock recovery is useless

Just so it doesn't happen to me... how am I supposed to backup my Oxygen OS if I change the ROM?

PS: Is it illegal for users to share their OOS backup?, maybe that would do the trick for this people.

I wonder because I have after installing Oxygen 3.1.3 OTA like with the tip above, again the stock recovery on it and no longer TWRP. Everything is back on stock with Oxygen 3.1.3 and recovery.
To explain, I had installed Paranoid and TWRP.

Can't confirm that, I used the Workaround, and TWRP is still installed, Stock Recovery has gone for good.
