Hi purchased a Realme buds wireless 2 and it has LDAC support. However when I connect it wireless buds with my oneplus 8T, I see LDAC is greyed out in the audio codec selection setting under developer options. Can some one please confirm is Oneplus 8T doesn't really support LDAC? In that case, it is a disappointment :(

Inversely, Realme probably locked out LDAC codec support on NON-Realme devices.

You could clearly see the 8T supports LDAC, and anecdotally, people have used the Sony WF-1000XM4s and they DO support LDAC on Android phones, the 8T included.

Also, maybe next time get TWS with Qualcomm AptX support.

You're thinking of LHDC. The screenshot clearly shows support for LDAC.

I have a SoundCore LDAC headset (Life Q35) that works with LDAC on this phone - no issues. My guess is it's the headphones.

This is extremely misguiding from Realme if that's the case. They are heavily using LDAC as a marketing tool for this new wireless earphones. But none of the reviews have mentioned that real me is blocking the LDAC support from non realme devices.
I saw couple of people struggling with the same issue on Oneplus 8T. So I thought it's a standard issue with 8T.

It does support LDAC, have you checked the normal Bluetooth settings?

Here is the screenshot of 8T

Hi, just saw this thread and can confirm LDAC works OK without changing anything on a OnePlus 8 and the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro I got today. I suppose it will work on a 8T too
