    The Prologue

So, after months on the fence if I should or not buy an Android Wear device, yesterday I decided to give in to the urges and bought a Sony SmartWatch 3.

I order it through Amazon Spain at a discounted price with one-day delivery.

    Why did I buy it?
Let's get the cat out of the bag. No one need a smartwatch. No one. You can lie to yourself all you want but you don't need it. It's a gadget. But the Sony SmartWatch has a nice little trick that no other Android Wear has at the moment. GPS. This, combined with the fact that allows you to listen to music through bluetooth earbuds makes it the perfect partner for running outside.

The packaging is very simple but pretty, it brings a small charging cable as seen above that will probably never leave the box and the usual documents that no one reads. Oh, and apparently the watch can help me becoming a better golfer.

    First Impressions

My first impressions were actually during my trip to France last week. That was the first time I saw anyone using this specific watch. And I was finally convinced.
Let us not kid ourselves. This is not a device as beautiful as the Moto 360 or the Asus ZenWatch (I don't really like the LG G Watch R so I won't compare), but it's a slick, sporty watch.

It suits well in the wrist and it's very comfortable to wear. The strap is made from a matte rubbery plastic that is very smooth.

This is not the most beautiful looking screen, with the whites being a bit too warm for my taste, but the 320 x 320 resolution is more than enough to make even the tiniest text very crisp.

The screen is also transflective, meaning that even if you don't have the backlight on, it's still readable (provided you have enough light around you):

The closing mechanism is made from metal and works really well. Once you choose your size, it's very easy to take the watch on or off your wrist.

I'll make a more detailed review about the software later on but it's not as intuitive as I thought. I now understand why my brother didn't use his Moto 360 to skip tracks on his OnePlus One. On the other hand, after an hour or so, I was used to it and I think I'm ready to start enjoying it fully!

I'll wait until OnePlus (hopefully) release a smartwatch on the 28th (wouldn't mind if it was a tablet though :p) :D

I thought the same until I actually saw one. It's not the most beautiful watch out there, but as I said, the main reason why I bought it was for fitness. Might buy the metal band when available to have a more formal look.

    Not for me, sorry. ;)
All I heard about it was rumors (usually OnePlus gives some teasers) and for the price I got it, it was a bargain so I didn't want to wait...

I almost got the Asus Zenwatch but decided $250 was a bit much for a gadget I wouldn't use much let alone not having a GPS inside.

I'll try to take better pics for the review to give a proper scale. I don't think it's that big to be honest.
