For me, only if it's not already installed. Under the Add On dictionaries:

That's the personal one so you could add words that would normally be indicated as a misspelled word but are actually correct. For instance " Oneplus" is considered a misspelled word but if you select "Add to dictionary" it should show up in your personal dictionary.

There is no "Add on dictionary option"

Did that. Spell Checker still only works on factory version of app.

That's probably the problem then. When you hold the "," (on the keyboard) and get the gear to select "Input Options" then select Android Keyboard Settings (AOSP), Text Correction - there should be Personal Dictionary and then Add-on dictionaries. It's really the "Add-on dictionaries" that have all the words for spell checker. The personal one is just words you add. I'll upload a screen shot in a minute...

If you turn that on, you get a strip at the top with word suggestions but the red line does not appear. I toggled that option multiple times. Still no red line. I then disabled it as I find the suggestion bar annoying.

Just noticed you also have auto correction off- turn that on and it should work - Actually I should say IF you mistype a word and then space, does the line appear? The line doesn't appear right away with auto correction off, but should if you press space and have a misspelled word.

Interesting. I had GBoard a while back but didn't reinstall when I moved to LOS and I'm still running 14 so not on Oreo yet. You're Oxygen version is updated to Oreo? I did reinstall the GBoard and played with settings and tried to match what you have show but spell check still worked no matter what.

I got this shipped from china so I initially had hydrogen OS. I guess something went wrong when I switched it :/. I downloaded the file from OnePlus official site, cleared cache, reset my phone before doing it. Idk what seems to be the problem.

Did you ever get this working? @MentalDraco this is the thread I was referring to. Same issue, GBoard not doing the spellcheck with the underlines.

I probably have seen it, but the problem did not manifest at that time, ty for the heads up. I'll stick to swiftkey till the next Gboard update and see if it still behaves the same.

Nope. Updating the app still means spellchecker does not work. I'll wait for the next update as well.
