Thanks for this wonderful synopsis... Sounds very exciting but am interested in knowing how they would implement the game collection. Why would Microsoft and Sony let their Flagship Games rent on Stadia and kill their own Business and if they don't will the Xbox and PS users would still want to take Stadia Subscription... Let's wait and watch ;)

That goes without saying, but still, unless google is going to do something about the network speed and latency (41ms you say?), it’s not for the most of the world except US, and i still think shadow is doing a better job at this.
    All i hear is excuses.

    To be fair,
Google has data centres all over the world and for shadow's part there are just 3.
I believe that google will ramp up everything in their control to boost the capabilities of STADIA

Shadow requires additional hardware- shadow ghost.
On Google's part all you need is a website. 0 costs.
    Plus the controller is optional.

Graphically AMD will be taking care of STADIA on the other end we have shadow who previously promised frequent updates but we haven't heard of any in the last one year.

I certainly am not picking sides or saying that Google is the best but given their potential they can always overtake the competition ;)

Is that a challenge !? :flushed:

    Thanks @Venky61 :)

Absolutely, the collection is something I am worried about a place in which Shadow leads. I hope that the can negotiate and crack a deal, as eventually the benefitors are the users.
Unless they can bring a vast collection STADIA will not sell.

Interesting article written by Kotaku Australia on Stadia which raises some valid questions. It's a long article and the abridged version would be:
    • Modding games
    • Google's history of project abandonment
    • A company as large as Google having a monopoly like control over game streaming
    • Game preservation and emulation etc
Link to the full article here.

If anything it highlights how easy it is to be swept up in the excitement at the time without thinking about the details that matter, especially so to PC gamers.

sure, but are they willing to? I was really that excited when they announced Project Ara, where it is now?
it doesn't require it  it's optional.

Project Ara was amazing I wanted it to see the light of day, but given it was purely hardware oriented, the level of difficulty in bringing it to life was high.

Given that this is purely (to an extent) software, I guess it will happen  (hoping!)

    Oops! Gotta check again.
    I take that as a yes!!:grimacing::sunglasses:

It’s mostly hardware tho, if you think about it, and it’s the same as any cloud service for the most part, anyways I really like how you get kind of your own personal pc with shadow instead of sharing resources with other users, which means no performance loss in peak times, and they really worked hard on the input lag, but we’re still to see how STADIA deals with that so I’m not judging but i will :p

When I said, 'purely software' I meant from the perspective of a buyer, I'm not shelling out dollars to buy a console per se, I am buying/renting access to a software. Ofc, that isn't possible without additional hardware on Google's part, but the users don't need any ;)
Don't judge a book by its cover

it’s the same with all of ‘em, but if i had to take sides I’ll go with shadow (still won’t buy their subscription) because you’re basically renting a high end pc with ‘em.

how it would feel like though? when the subscription expires you’re left with nothing...

No! I wanna buy real things!!!
If the cover says “google” i will

Still, i would choose the “illusion” that I’m comfortable with ;)
I don’t like the idea of monopoly, and that’s just that.
