I tested Project Stream for them for about four months and I loved it. Not sure what the pricing model will be at launch but they sold me on the beta so whatever it is, I will be subscribing/buying

@dsmonteiro since you recently wrote about shadow and STADIA, how do you think both of them compare?
By what we know of them which looks like a safer bet?

Likewise, almost every game I buy is physical. There are a few reasons for this - one being cost. To buy Metro Exodus on Xbox for example cost me $69AUD in store whereas to buy it online from the Xbox store it was $99AUD. This type of thing happens time and time again in Australia.

So what incentive is there to go digital for us?

I have tried out the Xbox game pass subscribtion service when it was only $2 for 2 months and to be honest I barely used it. I downloaded some games I wanted to try and then quickly moved on.

For me streaming games really at the moment, if cheap enough, is about trying games I wouldn't have otherwise purchased from a physical store.

Another thing I am confused by is this - if Stadia runs on the Vulkan API, does that not mean developers need to all port their games to this API in order to use Stadia?

If this is the case it would mean a lot of extra work for developers and may not even see a very high uptake in games to the service.

I had some games on ONLIVE when it existed before PlayStation bought it and shut it down, it taught me that physical ownership is always better, I paid good money for games that just disappeared when the service was withdrawn. For me as long as physical ownership of a console & games is an option I will take it over a streaming service any day

well it's different in so much as it's a subscription service but you could have a favourite game and Google might lose the license and you've suddenly lost your game and saves/ progress etc, I'd consider it as a backup but. I will never replace my main consoles

    Makes sense!
they can be an additional source of gaming running parallel to the present day consoles.
I guess a money-back policy (in case the service shuts down) should do the trick!
