Thank you so much. Think my issue was slightly different in that screen would show snow only SOME of the time. Connector must've barely been loose Daughter knocked my phone off the sofa. . Thank you thank you thank you. Love this phone. Would have been devastated.

Happened to my girlfriends OnePlus 3T this morning when it fell out of her pocket indoors and we sorta panicked because we're going on vacation in just a couple days so there wasn't time for sending it for repair. But after slapping its backside firmly into my open palm a couple of times it worked as new again (didn't read past the first couple posts before I tried so can't say where it "popped back"). Thank you all!

It's the connection for the monitor to the motherboard that is coming loose, happened to mine popped the screws out and opened it up, snapped the connector back in place. You could also squeeze right below the dual SIM tray and probably get the same result.

Same problem, just a google led to this page and it instantly works! But what is the exact technical problem here? Someone from OnePlus care to answer?

    Warranty doesn't cover abuse

Remove two screws from bottom. Remove SIM tray. Remove back cover using plastic tool (carefully!). Reattach ribbon cable and make sure it's firm. This will be the one on the far bottom right side of the motherboard. Reassemble

Thanks so much. I dropped my phone this morning and was on the verge of tears when I saw the "tv snow" screen. Then I saw your solution. I pressed it and it sorta worked; the display came back but was frozen. I didn't want to keep pressing or press too hard for fear I would finally break it, then I saw an additional response that recommended slapping the back of it. WOOOHHOOOO!! Problem solved. Had I not seen your response, I would've paid unnecessarily (and maybe expensively) for a repair.
I fell in love with this phone from the moment it reached my hands. This phone is the best. I'm a oneplus-er for life.

I'm having the same issue and I just replaced the screen less than 2 weeks ago . Did anybody else's phone look like this and got it the display to work ?

Slapping the phone or squeezing around the edges of the screen works for me to get rid of the grey-screen or snow-screen problem, but it only works for a while, like a few hours to a day. Also, after I've brought back the screen through one of these methods, the touch response doesn't work as well as it should.

Has anyone had this professionally fixed? If so, what was the repair, and how much did it course? And of course, did the fix keep working for a long time?

    Thanks in advance, community!
