Of course the step counter is present in Nord.
First in Home Settings option "Swipe down to access" choose "Shelf".
Then swipe down on any of your screens to have the Shelf. Touch the upper right logo to have the full page menu and enable the step counter (or any other accessory).
Step counter resets every days.
That's all.
