is it me or are the animations different on the unlocked ones. Like when you close an app? Or is that from the fact that the software update is behind?

Hard to tell. The unlocked version has a lot of features that the T-Mobile don't have. My guess it's the updates.

I think I'm basically part of their target market for this. I was considering leaving iPhone after five years. I didn't want to spend Apple money for a phone, the pixel 3 looked good but not enough to make a move... but nothing was really pushing me to make the leap back to android. I was on the fence about the 6T, but when it went from being a $600+ decision to a $300 one, it was easy. I did research the differences, and if I am happy with the move, I will upgrade to the first 5g oneplus, presumably the 7, but go with a full unlocked version. And if I'm not happy, I'm out 300 which I will probably get 250 of back on another to trade in down the road.

I know for myself, the things that were stated here by @KamersonS I didn't know until after I purchased and received my OP6T from T-Mobile. I do believe if all of this was mentioned at the event, then I may would have opted for OP6T version from OnePlus.

What I'd like to see is updates pushed out to T-Mobile customers faster. Currently, there's been two updates neither of which the T-Mobile variant has received. On the hardware side, I'd like to dual speakers possibly front facing so they don't get covered by the hands. I've noticed that the speakers need some work. I'd like to see more tweaks with the camera in future devices. It would be nice if T-Mobile customers could opt in the beta program in the future.

That trade in deal making the OP6T at T-Mobile is a deal that's just hard to pass. While they're some pain points now and with the positive sales, I hope that this would allow T-Mobile and OnePlus to work together for some of the changes that we see in the unlocked version. I know it may drive up the price but I'd like to see some hardware tweaks in future iterations as well.

As a T mobile customer I was disappointed in their role out of the 6T. I went in on the 30 and was told they would not be selling them. Then I ordered one at a store and was told it would ship on the 8th which it did not. Finally purchased one at a store only for them to screw it up. but hey glad to finialy
get the phone and after the weekend have to say very impressed.

T-MOBILE still don't have any information about the software update. They won't even say they are working on it. Anyone knows if the cost is high to push out a update over the air?

From my understanding all T-Mobile phones have the latest November security patch already on them. The phone itself will say September because it was uploaded on them in September, before release. But the security patch is for November. I Spoke to tech support experts in Chicago.

this is completely inaccurate. OnePlus has Sept 5th security patches. Google release a partial patch for manufactures with full patches typically around the 5th of the month they use for their phones.

Even if we unlock the SIM and bootloader, we won't be able to install the beta branch? and how about the official OxygenOS branch?

I'm not sure what's going on with TMobile OnePlus updates I know we are definitely at least two behind still and not in December security patch either. @askdes what is going on?
