Got one plus 7 pro, Switched it on, agreed to terms and conditions, connected to wifi and the next step is checking for updates, which keeps loading but no sign of moving forward. Its stuck there for more than 60 minutes now.

P.S restarted and even tried with mobile data but its the same.

Update 1. Tried skipping the update screen by clicking skip on the wifi setup screen and it allowed me to move forward but now it got stuck with a white screen and after sometime says android setup stopped working :(

Update 2. Once after I select the font style it goes to the blank white screen and after sometime says Android setup Keeps stopping.

Have you tried skipping this part of set up and then manually adding WiFi?

I removed sim and skipped wifi and it asked for fingerprint registration, which was registered, selected font style, next is a blank white screen and after sometime it throws an error message.

If it behaves badly and there is no way out you may need to factory reset but never try wifi until the setup is finished. There seems to be rather many having issues and so far they all have a link to wifi during setup guide... Wifi seems to make the guide get stuck for some.

How do i delete the wifi credentials that is already provided in the setup wizard. Eventhough I skip it, it still will have the credentials stored and it may connect in the background. but when i skip the wifi icon disappears. If i have no options and if i need to do a factory reset, how should i do it?

Okay, this is what I did. Booted into recovery mode, erased system setting and rebooted it again, skipped sim, wifi settings and now the setup is complete. Now installing updates. Things are fine so far and will keep this thread updated if in any problem occurs. Thank you for all your help.

It happened to me yesterday when I wiped data with the Android 10 stable ROM.

They should fix it because many people will wipe data with the new stable ROM.

yeah you are right. Now that lot of beta build folks will try updating to the stable Android 10 and a lot might end up with this issue. Hope one plus fixes this issue.

My phone crashes the setup right after I pick the 'fond' - Then it goes into a white screen and tells me the android setup app has stopped respond.
I have tried taking out my sim card, not picking a wifi connection and not using my sim cards connection. Neither of the three works. Dont know what to do from here on out since I cant really access the phone without running the setup.

Boot into recovery mode, erase system setting and reboot the product. Ensure you skip sim, wifi settings and the setup should be complete.

Hi, I have the same problem. I did what the " best answer" suggest me to do, and not working for me
    I skipped the SIM part
    then configuration continues
then asked me to connect to a WiFi, I do not select any, I'm not able to see skip option on wiFi screen selection
then after a few seconds, the phone get stuck and turned off a few seconds later,
please help me I'm very frustrated with this problem.
I already did the erase system settings

Run into the same problem. Reboot into factory, erase everything, then "skip sim", and "skip wifi". Then it worked.
