    Update
    Notice/
Starting from Open Beta 34/25 (and other versions that has Google security patch for March/April and above) you can not apply and enable Layers the old way...you need to follow the next instructions:
1- apply layers to selected themes
2- select the layers again and enable them
    3- reboot the device
4- open substratum again and go to "Manager" tab
5- select the layers and select "Change layer state"

this is due to latest Google Security patch that makes it harder to directly apply themes.

It applies to all ROMs and builds that have security patch above March 2018.

Flux theme is not running after Android 8.1 update
I selected OOS Oreo for OS option, but it says that there is a mismatch
    Can you please help.

according to the the theme dev, it's compatible with 8.1 OOS, maybe try to
1- 1st disable all layers and themes, the theme clean layers (or in the manager tab select all and click uninstall layers).
then return to default OOS theme and then reboot
    if you have root,
2- after reboot using a root file manager , go to root/data/system/ and delete the file names overlays.xml
    then reboot again,
3- after reboot return to dark OOS theme (or light if you're using flux white) follow the instruction in post 174
    https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...orts-oos-8-0-oreo.720098/page-9#post-18121089
or if you don't have root just do step 3 after the reboot....

if that doesn't work, maybe substratum or flux is broken on OOS 8.1 for now, although a lot of themes claim it's not (like Swift0, that said, i can't be sure, because i'm on OnePlus 3, and we don't have 8.1 yet we're still on 8.0, so i can test and be sure, hopefully some else with 8.1 can confirm or help if the above doesn't work.

    Thanks much for the advice
    I am not rooted though
But I did try uninstalling Flux and Substratum, rebooting and reinstalling all after I was getting "There is delay in the Substratum background" error frequently, and the Build process was getting cancelled mid-way
After many attempts, though I did succeed in finishing up the build, I got the compatibility error

I have installed a few other sundry overlays which don't require selection of an OS, though
