Suggestion: introduce battery charge limit

I like to suggest a battery charge limit in oxygen OS. Able to limit battery charge to eg 85% can prolong battery health. I think it will be a useful feature to add.

Can you elaborate why not include a feature that can protect battery and extend its life or you're just trolling?

I offered a simple solution to a simple problem. Charging is fast no need for anything else.

    No need for you.

Charging limit (margins) can and will extend battery life and it'll be very welcome.

You may not enable it if you don't like it.

[/QUOTE]Stopping charging at 85% doesn't protect the battery, charge to 100%, when it reaches capacity charging shuts off.

Just one more useless feature. Let's say your phone is a 50%, you go to bed at 9pm. At 8pm you charge your phone to 85%, it's now 8:20, you have 85% unplug your phone, brush your teeth, go to bed. Easy and no extra work for anyone.

    Useless for you.
Again, Google what I've mentioned above.

Personally, I wanna extend my phone's non removable battery life the longest I can before a screwdriver is needed.

No I won't Google that, I'll go off my own experiences. Every smartphone I've ever owned has been charged overnight to 100% on a daily basis and none of them ever suffer issues with battery life.

Your own experience does not describe how Li-Ion works.

If you wanna educate yourself Google is there.

Great suggestion. Depth of discharge studies have shown that keeping a lithium-ion battery in the 60-80% charged range will prolong its useful life. I would definitely use this feature.

I think that's a great suggestion. Those who disagree, you won't have to use it :p

You are wrong. Do you have any reputable source stating that only charging to 85% extends battery life?
Ignore the oft-repeated anecdotal evidence people often trot out - "keep battery between 15 and 80%" or similar variations, as it is nonsense:

    Even your source mention it:

"Lithium-ion does not need to be fully charged; a partial charge is better."

Do you guys really think all electronic companies are running a huge conspiracy by letting us charge are phones to 100 and ruin the battery life?
You know batteries don't charge once they reach 100.
