Purchasing SIM cards for a trip to Japan in December - been told by several sellers that there might be an issue (believe its the LTE bands) with the OP5.

Does anyone have experience on this?

Any guidance would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Don't have direct experience, but the specs seem to suggest it will be ok.
    3G - 2100MHz
    4G - Band28-700MHz, Band19-850MHz, Band3-1800MHz, Band1-2100MHz
It probably won't autoconfigure, so likely need to manually set up APN.

hello, thanks Gav for the input.

sivartmac - I've not gone yet. Been assured by one particular seller that NTT DoCoMo supports the OP5 so I've got that SIM card instead. Will update if all works well in Japan.

FYI 5T users, I'm currently in Japan (Tokyo Area) and I just got the Japan Travel sim card (1. 5GB for 30 days) from Bic camera store. It took a while to configure the APN for some reason? Had to do it three times (DELETE AND RECONFIGURE) in order for the sim to connect to network, but it did connect Last year, I bought the travel sim from b-mobile and it was much easier.

Hi, using the "welcome prepaid sim card" from NTT docomo in Japan worked fine for me with OnePlus 5.
