1 tip, a good practice is, once a month or once 3 months, some even say do it consecutively 3 times per month or per 3 month, to prolong and to make the battery life better:

let the device drain until zero, i.e. until it shuts off itself.
charge it for at least 6 hrs, while it is still off, and dont interrupt the charge.
then turn it on and use it as per your normal daily style.

the above is also a fix for ppl with battery problem, whereby their device will turn off by itself, even when the device is reporting > 1% battery. some encountered it at 10%, device shuts down, some at 20%, its random between effected devices.

i personally do it once per month only during nighttime

is it true that sometimes if we let the battery drain till 0% it will cause the opo to SOD (sleep of death)?

mixed view on this. one group will say yes. while another, will say no it doesn't.

my view is with the latter. i did let my device to drop to 0% so many times, sometimes, i even purposely do it in order for it to shut down at 0%. and i had never encountered any problems so far.

look at this from this angle, when the device's battery turns to 0%, any data should not be affected, because all those data (pics, apps, system) are kept in the device memory. lets say you keep some files in your thumb drive, those data saved will not be erased when you pull the thumbdrive out from the usb port. the data still remain intact while unplugged from usb port. same goes to data saved into pc's hdd. it will still remain untouched when no power supply is connected to it.

imo, those who encountered data loss, or any similar problems, were already having problems with their device at the 1st place. they just didnt notice it until the device went dead and they cant reboot it back.

Umm Hello guys. I just bought my 64gb one plus one and it comes with the (Chinese)Color OS. I want to change the OS to the Cyanogenmod. Yes, I found lots of solution but never dared to try. Can somebody guide me step by step? (assuming I'm a baby) thank you. Additionally, is there any store at lowyat that can help resolve me problem?

    since you just bought it:
do the EFS backup, that means you will need to install twrp and root your phone 1st.
    then, just wipe everything
    and install a fresh CM11s

lol. heavy modders will need to do all those steps, every time a new version comes out, because clean install is still the best way to flash and avoid bugs.

i guess, im used to it already. :p

have you tried the make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p15 fix? that usually will resolve the bootloop.

    okay. try this:
enter twrp recovery. just hold press power button until the screen goes blank. then, press power button + volume down until u feel a vibrate.
    then wipe dalvik and cache
    reboot.

if still cant, i'll try to extract the persist.img from my opo later and upload it for you
