I was also checking this with different objects in different scenes. The camera continues to struggles to lock focus on subject in portrait mode. This issue is only present in portrait mode of rear camera.

After this update, the portrait mode is not able to focus only on human subjects, there is no issue with any other objects...

I tried cleaning the lens, resetting the camera application and also followed the correct depth control distance...though it is blurring the human subjects. Is it only with OnePlus 7 or also for 7 pro? coz both the devices got the same update at a time in same batch...

is your subject human or any object? i just tested it with an object and portrait mode is blurring background only, while subject is in focus. try moving away from your subject or tap on subject to focus on it.

I tried both a human and some objects as the subject. It's working fine with all other objects but not with human subject. While clicking the picture it is staying focused but after clicking the shot, during the view the focus is gone...check the attached photo....

    Hi,

Can you share a list of modules/apps you use with root?

What do you think about Xposed Framework?

On my part, I get better battery on this update. If you just update let it settle down for a few days before come to conclusions.
