Clear the launcher cache and data to see if that stops it. The weird overlay of the drawer leads me to believe that might be the culprit.

No, no, no. Go to ACTUAL settings. Drag the notification shade down and tap the gear icon. Go into "Apps & notifications" and search for OnePlus Launcher. Storage then clear both data and cache then reboot.

I am using OnePlus 7, updated to 10.3.3 and using it since yesterday, but I did not face any issues mentioned in the forum so far atleast regarding battery life or the ambient display (touch to wake). Everytime I check my phone even after minutes or hours I never had to press the button to wake up my phone. Plus live captions are there too.

This update is good for me.

Quite disappointed that they rolled out such a bad update, even in a staged roll out, and couldn't realise that it totally kills the double tap to wake feature and at times gestures too.
I'd advise you to avoid updating if they're important for you, as they were for me

I noticed a lot of problems after upgrade to Android 10 or OxygenOS 10.

Can anyone tell me how to downgrade to the latest stable version of Android 9 or OxygenOS 9 on OnePlus 7 ?

no I haven't checked yet, portrait mode was always a hit or miss case for me even in earlier versions of update. I mostly never use portrait mode.
