Depends on your activity, idle activity and so on... A SoC that can run at 80°C will obviously be a problem if being at that level too long time. If you also have a higher ambient temp your time frame before the heat also heats up the battery will be shorter.
Your battery needs to be within 5 to 45°C... Obviously a problem since the SoC always produces some heat and spreads it in the phone body to cool down. High ambient temp requires optimal usage of resources to keep the heat generation as low as possible.

Some that followed my guide found something and sometimes solved the problem. Sometimes by a so simply way as charging for longer times (see last user comment in my guide... All he did was to let the maintenance (dexopt) job finish by charging differently... ).
Worst case it does not solve the problem but the user learnt something and can pinpoint the issue better in a report to Oneplus.

    For example...

A CPU that has a idle activity level at the red line vs a blue line has 2 very different thermal situations. One of them may already be overheating due to a faulty app or system component. The other one is as cold as possible considering the available ambient temp.

Some of my comments on the X1 core "trick"... New posts popping up everywhere over and over...

My joke was over the fact that you can find 4 posts looking like this... Post no 300 somewhere for example... It's a question. 302 is the answer. 303 is the same question again... Your "bot" comment indicated that you don't feel like answers and info is needed to be given over and over again, but clearly it's needed. Even just a few posts apart sometimes.

You are not the only one facing this issue, I have already submitted a report but no answer... The scrolling feels laggish, it might seem like a small detail, but it affects the experience... A LOT

Not extremely much though. Seen much worse happening for some.
If closing the apps in recent apps... Does it still remain the same?

You might be able to see hints of what happens via a battery drain analysis (either built-in stats or for example BBS and GSam). But it's far from the same as seeing a proper process overview like on a computer. We used to be able to see the exact CPU usage per process via monitor apps before but that was restricted by Google serval Android versions ago.
What we can use however is the command "top -m 10". But even that is slightly tricky if there is no obvious major source and just many small things happening.

If the slightly higher frequency levels is due to a high level of un-optimised system components and apps allowing a dexopt job to finish would give better performance and less drain.
This is automatically done if connected to the charger long enough while not using the device (it usually mean longer times can be necessary than instant disconnects at 100% or 80%)
This can be done via adb shell too without needing any changed charge patterns. "cmd package bg-dexopt-job". I can take everything from 2 minutes (not needed if so fast) to an hour or so (depending on amount of apps)

Looking at some running processes here and do some trial and error on what happens if one of them is stopped could possibly give some hints on the source of the activity.

Most of this is mentioned in my guide. If nothing of this makes a difference at least a few parameters is excluded. And hopefully it could lead to proof or more info of what happens if you decide to report it via the feedback tool.

Congratulations all OnePlus 9 Pro users. Another feather in the cap apart from bugs, heating issues, severe battery drains and unresponsive dev/support team.
