You know, I have been testing one app for a day now. Drains the battery though. I wonder if the drain would be lesser if it was a part of OOS.

I have found a new app. The AoD is awesome and all biometric features work.
However, it does use up a substantial amount of battery. I wonder how much you would consider acceptable considering how convenient the feature is...

ya evn I tried the Always on Amoled by newgen mobile, but it drains battery a lot which I couldn't consider acceptable myself. Hence I stopped using it. But your question is quite interesting "If it had been a part of the OS itself, how much the battery drain would have been?"

Nothing diffirent than when i was on ob8 tbh. And i dont use a black wallpaper.

Battery had always been very good but since ob9 it has been better for me.

Yes, that's what I have been wondering about. I mean, Samsung does a great job of integrating AoD in its One UI. Looks fantastic. Yes, it does use up more battery, but at least the option is there. Plus, one can always turn it off .

only that OnePlus outright refuses to re-enable it.
they decided what's good for user's battery on their own. nothing we can do.

nevertheless it does use up a lot of battery and henceforth I myself feel its better the way users who want this have to download some app for it from the play store

Yes, I was conned into buying Oneplus because everyone said they always listen to their users. But I now find that all they do is impose whatever suits their cheap business ends. Remember what happened with that headphone jack poll? The last thing they do is care about what we want.

Actually, I would not mind that. It's just that I feel that if AoD is integrated into the OS, it might drain less battery.

I think you r havin some issues with ur settings and stuff....also try clearing the cache and restarting the device once....if it doesn't work, do a factory reset....that will work for sure, just don't forget to take a backup for ur data
