    Batman360 , Apr 30, 2020 :
Hi to all my fellow community friends. I know you guys must be really bored sitting at home during this lockdown, but this is really need to flatten the curve. Anyways I am not going to bore you guys with this stuff that you already know, instead I am going to suggest you a lot of fun things to do to keep you occupied. I know there are already really exciting competitions happening in the community to help you guys to be more creative and also win a lot of cool prizes. But what if we develop a new skill eh? Learning a skill is an investment that never goes down no matter how bad the recession gets.

You guys remember when we used to say “Ah! I can’t do this, I already have so much on my plate. I don’t have time for this.” But now things are different right? Right. So, with all the time in hand, why waste it just laying around, sleeping, doing nothing?

According to me if a person doesn’t develop any new skill in this period of lockdown or doesn’t do anything productive that really counts, that means that he/she is just wasting their time which could be very well invested in doing something of value.

I don’t really know when the lockdown’s going to end but yeah, I have some amazing and cool stuffs for you guys sitting all around the world would enjoy doing till then.

P.S. I know you would enjoy because I tried all of them and to be really honest, I am loving it!! Also if you don’t wanna read it all then I suggest read the headings, click on suggested links and start doing them. 😊

    So, let’s begin, shall we?!

    1.) Reading :-

I know this may sound boring especially when you see it in written. But trust me reading some amazing content might take you to different dimension. You can read like anything, an article, fiction, non-fiction, news which interests you, if you don’t like to waste money on such stuffs, you can find anything for free on Internet right? 😉 I have been doing a lot of reading lately. I am no different than you people, I used to be a reader 5-6 years back but then life really happened for me, so I got busy and lost touch of reading. But it’s never too late to start again, so I did and have some amazing recommendations for you to read in every genre. If you ask me what do I like then, I like reading articles about technologies (of course), about the stock market, some mind-boggling short stories, about what’s happening around the world in general. In books I really love reading biography of people who made something out of themselves in life, it really boosts you up to get up and get going to do something in life, not big not small but SOMETHING.

I won’t bore you more and get you guys typing TL;DR in comments, so I am attaching some of my recommendations of some amazing content for you to give it a read.

a.) Article websites (choose article of your preference) :-

    1. https://www.newyorker.com/

    2. https://markmanson.net/best-articles

    3. https://allthatsinteresting.com/best-all-that-is-interesting-articles

    4. https://jamesclear.com/articles

To read about stock markets I suggest 2 apps :-

    1. Moneycontrol: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.divum.MoneyControl&hl=en_IN

    2. CNBC: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cnbc.client&hl=en

    b.) Books to read :-

    1. Game of Thrones (all parts) :- Trust me it’s better than the show.

    2. Shiva Trilogy (by Amish Tripathi) :-

    i.) The Immortals of Meluha.

ii.) The Secret of the Nagas.

iii.) The Oath of the Vayuputras.

    3. The Polyester Prince: The Rise of Dhirubhai Ambani

    4. Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future

    5. Steve Jobs

    6. Dreams from My Father (Obama’s biography)

    7. Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention by Manning Marable

    8. Bill Gates: A Biography

    9. Khaled Hosseini :-

    i.) The Kite Runner

    ii.) A Thousand Splendid Suns

    iii.) And the Mountains Echoed

    10. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

These books will give you idea about what you want genre you want to read and also, they are really interesting, you will develop a habit of reading by the time you read all these books.

    c.) Short stories :-

    2.) Dancing/Yoga/Exercise :-

Dance like no one’s watching! Do yoga like you are Baba Ramdev! Exercise like you want to make your ex jealous! 😉 Instead of still laying on bed, sitting on a chair while doing work from home or just lazing around, you have to just get up and build up your physique and stamina because when the lockdown gets over you don’t want to be known as the guy/girl who gained 20pounds during lockdown. Also, sometimes you just have to blow off some steam just to feel energized and refreshed and take your mind off from the boring work that your boss gives you right?! So, if you ask me again that how I tackle this, I do it by dancing (yeah I dance and I am not ashamed of it lol) and by doing some home friendly exercises. You just have to turn the lively music on “Hey Google! Play Bonfire” and get sweaty by all the hip-hop, locking and poping moves, by crunching your way to perfect 6 packs, pushup-ing you way to bigger biceps and by umm … Yoga (lol). There are a lot of tutorials on the internet for these things and if you are not in a mood to search, let me share you some of the links and let Youtube’s recommendation algorithm handle the rest :p

    Dance tutorial channels :-

    a.) Matt Steffanina: https://www.youtube.com/user/MattSDance

    b.) 1MILLION Dance Studio: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCw8ZhLPdQ0u_Y-TLKd61hGA

    c.) Dance Tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/user/DanceTutorialsLIVE

These 3 are enough as you can just close your room turn on some music and do whatever steps you want to do because no one’s watching 😉

    3.) Sketching/Calligraphy/Painting :-

Ahh! Isn’t this time the best to let your creativity out?! All those years of hard-work may it be in school, college, office has somewhere restricted your creativity from coming out. Now you are not to say that you are not creative just because you don’t know to draw, there’s creativity hidden in all of us, you just have to keep patience and try and see what beautiful things you create. These kinda stuffs always keep me calm and time flies by when you get engrossed in doing something creative and showing it off on your grams. All I ask from you is to start, and let the things flow and take its course. It will take your time but its better to do this than to being lazy. You could even involve your family, create some D.I.Y. stuffs have some family bonding time, wouldn’t that be great! I am sharing you the links of all the free tutorials and classes so that you get your little push which you really needed for these things. Being creative is a beautiful skill that will take you a long way. Think out of the box, create, paint, let your imagination run wild.

    4.) Cooking :-

Pizza, pasta, biryani, burgers, french fries, garlic bread.

So, now that I have your undivided attention. Don’t we all love to eat some delicious food may it be in dine-in or ordering food via apps whilst you are in the comfort of your home and hugged by the coziness of your bed. But right now, we can’t afford these luxuries. So instead we can bring the sumptuous delights of the outside world in our own home by making them by ourselves and trust me they are EASY to prepare. Though I am not doing the whole cooking by myself because I am bad at chopping vegetables but I help my mom in making those delicacies. Some recipes take about 5-10mins and some take 30-45 mins but, in both cases, you are in a win-win situation as all the food that you prepare goes into your drooling mouth. I will suggest you the best Indian dishes that you can make by yourself at home from starters, to main course, to sweet dish, everything virus free. You will shocked to know that you have woken up an inner chef in you, when you finish your food by licking your fingers clean. Even people working for KFC would say this to your dish “It’s finger licking good!”

    5.) Playing Instruments :-

Here comes my favorite part. I play guitar so I am going to talk about it a bit but also, I will be sharing links/images to the music theory that will help you learn to play other instruments too because the basic are same. Playing guitar for me is like escaping the real-world problems for a while, every strum on the strings just soothe the ears. Ever had that feeling while listening to a song like “Damn! I wanna play this tune” or just started to play air guitar while listening to some fun music. Well I get that feeling everyday and I have a real guitar to play the tunes on and damn it feels so great to play along with the songs or even sing with it. It’s like you are in a zone which is beautiful and melodious and you never wanna snap out of it. I could just talk about it all day but I want you guys to feel the music your own way just like I did. Don’t learn! Just feel the rhythm and you are all set to go.

    6.) Binging shows :-

First of all, download TV Time App to keep track of your shows and movies.

    Link :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tozelabs.tvshowtime&hl=en

This is much easier to do than the rest of the above things that I just told you but don’t just go on a binge streak for days because as you may have guessed, it’s not productive but there are some of the great shows that are worth your time and you will really enjoying watching them. But again, it’s a tiresome job to find a good show and takes a lot of unnecessary time, worry not, I am here to help you suggest some of the amazing shows that you MUST watch. I watch 3-4 episodes per day of a particular show, so in this way my time is evenly divided. Watching these shows makes me realize that there are still people who thinks out of the box and make these amazing series to watch with a beautifully written script and the stories. They actually make the viewers to think and not just sit idle gawking towards the screen and letting your brain stay stagnant. If you watch some correct content then maybe the tv won’t be called an idiot box after all. 😉 Some of my top suggestions for the shows are (in no particular order) :-

    a.) Breaking Bad (Netflix)

    b.) Friends (Netflix)

c.) Two and a Half Men (Netflix/Amazon Prime)

    d.) Money Heist (Netflix)

    e.) Dark (Netflix)

    f.) Black Mirror (Netflix)

    g.) Bojack Horsemen (Netflix)

h.) Patriot Act by Hasan Minaj (Netflix)

i.) The Big Bang Theory (Netflix/Hotstar)

    j.) Suits (Netflix/Amazon Prime)

    k.) Mr. Robot (Netflix)

    l.) Game of Thrones (HBO/Hotstar)

m.) The Witcher (Netflix), and many more….

P.S. Or you may just download the TV Time app and follow me there to get the list of the shows I am watching or had watched previously; my User ID is 4860572. 80% of the shows I watch, matches the ONEPLUS’s phone quality 😉

P.S.S. I have a total of 4months 7days and 22hours of show watching time so you can trust me :p

Also check out @B.I.T.S. ‘s thread for more suggestion :- https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/stayathome-what-are-you-currently-watching.1216442/

    7.) Listening Music :-

One of my ways to ignore my problems and hectic work schedule. Always be playing traps, indie traps, dubstep, house music, R&B and many more depending on the mood. Always commanding my Google Assistant to keep playing my favorite songs. Okay imagine this, you dimmed your lights you are with your partner or even alone for an instance and you turn on your speakers or better, a Bullets wireless, selected the song you have been playing for days and are not bored of it yet and turned up the volume to a sweet spot which hits you perfectly, you just lay on your bed and just breathing and forgetting about what’s going on in the world, no worries. Yes, my friends you have now attained a perfect stage of relaxation and you didn’t even need to meditate and be bored. You have everything you love i.e. your music with you. I would suggest my playlist to you but it’s of no use because people like to groove in their own kinda music and I understand that. So, go ahead play just lose yourself into a different dimension.

Popular apps for listening to music :-

    a.) Spotify: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music&hl=en

    b.) Amazon Music: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.mp3&hl=en

    c.) Jio Saavn: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jio.media.jiobeats&hl=en

d.) Gaana (Free 3 months with ONEPLUS’s Red Cable Club): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gaana&hl=en

    e.) Soundcloud: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.soundcloud.android&hl=en

    f.) Wynk Music: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bsbportal.music&hl=en

    8.) Writing blog/poem/short stories :-

I don’t usually do this but someday I would really love to and I am thinking of starting it because it’s a perfect way to pen down your feelings, your thoughts, your creativity etc. Let world see what a great writer you are and once you start writing you will get a hang of it and you will just keep on writing and suddenly you will see that you have written 10 pages long article (you see what I did there?). It’s really amazing to see how much capable is your brain to create a story or a poem or anything. Write a blog about tech, about life about anything, there are plenty of readers out there on a plenty of platforms. Maybe someone of value notices you and publishes your work. Who knows, luck works in a mysterious way doesn’t it. Following are some of the platform where you can showcase your skills or maybe just comment below your work for us to read and enjoy:

    a.) https://www.wattpad.com/

    b.) https://commaful.com/

    c.) https://medium.com/

    d.) https://www.fictionpress.com/

    e.) https://www.booksie.com/

So, I would like to end after the 8 points (you know why :p). I really appreciate you guys taking out you time and reading this. I hope it was worth your while. You can comment down your suggestions for the things you do to keep yourself busy, also share your reads, songs, playlist, stories with you fellow community members.

I would like to thank my community friends (a.k.a. wormies) for encouraging me to write this. Not tagging anyone in case I forget some of them, but you guys know who you are😉

I've been doing many of the things listed above. But the one I've been delaying is cooking and I need to learn how to cook since I'll be on my own when I go to Canada. This hit me hard at just right time. There's no excuse I can really make to avoid cooking. [e]1f602[/e][e]1f602[/e]

Congratulations on posting something like this without breaking the forums. Like @SJBoss mentioned, I'm already doing/seeing some of what you mentioned, but I can't wait to dig deeper and try something new.

    Thank you once again.

    Reading : ✓✓✓
Currently reading The Count of Monte Cristo, might very well become my favourite book of all time.
Articles : Been reading them for half the time I'm on the phone. GG on the New Yorker suggestion, it's dope.

    Dancing/Yoga/Exercise : ✓
I'm not the dancer guy, I had yoga in University, can you believe that? [e]1f602[/e][e]1f602[/e] so I know a bit about it. Exercise, is something I'd definitely give time to.

    Sketching/Calligraphy/Painting : X
I used to sketch in school till 9th grade, satisfactorily. But then I lost the touch. Iss gonna be hard to go back at it.

    Cooking : X
Like I said, since I'll be own my own when I'm off to Canada, I'll definitely need to learn how to cook. I've been avoiding it even when my mum's been forcing for so long now [e]1f602[/e][e]1f602[/e]. Guess it's time to get on with it. Also, I'd suggest Sidechef app for anyone who wishes to learn cooking to. I've it installed on my phone for over 6 months now but kept under "Useless" folder. It's time to let it out.

    Playing Instruments : X
I've always wanted to learn how to play guitar, not to impress others, but to play it for myself. I don't have a guitar as of now, or any other instrument. So I'll hold of on this one.

    Binging Show : ✓✓✓
I don't know how many 100s of hours I've spent behind TV shows and movies. [e]1f602[/e][e]1f602[/e]

    Listening Music : ✓✓✓
Like it is for TV shows, my love for music has been evergreen. Even though I do not support piracy, but I'd do anything for the lossless FLACs. If anyone's an audiophile r/riprequests is the place for you. Lossless FLACs + Poweramp equals Serenity

    Writing blogs/Poems/Short stories : X
Never done that, even though a couple of my school friends organizes open mic kinda thing in this lockdown where we video call on Duo every weekend, all the school friends and listen to them talk about things. It's fun, but I is not a writer.

I'm still working but without the commute I have so much more extra time in the day. I've been exercising, spring cleaning, cooking, started playing video games again, watching tv and movies, talking to friends, etc...

Bhai!!! 😍 I had to mention you here, i really loved that DIY.
    Coding websites :-
    1.) Stack Overflow.
    2.) Github.
    3.) Geeksforgeeks.
4.) YouTube (whichever language you want to learn start from basics and any video is good)
5.) Udemy courses are the good too and are available at discounted rate these days.

But my personal suggestion is that you study about data structures, basic algorithms, Database, OOPs concepts first from all these sites mentioned above and then only proceed forward coz basic are really important. Try out some palindrome programs, Fibonacci series and many more there are. Also in database start with SQL.

Thanks bitsyy!! If you could suggest me some of the podcasts/audiobooks, i would be glad to mention it in my thread 😉😄
