Except if you have to carry another android phone (like a work phone) - then see that swipe up on that phone is the opposite of swipe up on this one. try adjusting to that :)

Besides most default phone calling, many third party apps like WhatsApp Call, Google Duo Call, and every other applications has swipe up or Swipe right to answer (some with additional Green to Answer and Red to Reject) and this OnePlus Phone App wants us to be confused by swiping down.

OnePlus let's partner with Google and bring default Google phone Dialer.
    OR
atleast change swipe up to answer for OnePlus Phone.

Every manufacturer makes choices, and we can't have options on everything from which way to swipe, menu colours to vibration settings on everything without getting a bloated system with too many choices.

You can install a different dialer at your convenience, just don't expect Oneplus to implement this option in the short term.

By Confused, am asking OnePlus what's the point to change swiping direction to answer phone call, unless it is to fix something or gain more features.

Why change something which is not broken.

Every other Application, we are used to swipe right it Swipe up to answer.

It's awful, not intuitive and doesn't make any sense. That's why no one has done it before.
Unless your thumb is upside-down, swiping up makes anatomical sense, too.
Also, there's less chance of dropping your phone.

no it's only down in the phone dialler not in WhatsApp voice call or hangouts dialler and not in prior versions of oxygen os where it was swipe right to answer. why make a counterintuitive setup. what will they think of next ? double tap to power off maybe ?

Swipe down is one of the most dumbest modifications made to a Google Android feature ever.

My two cents. But doesn't look like OP cares.

It is irrespective of whether you like it or not. The rest of the apps currently in your phone (WhatsApp, etc) followed the Google Dialers lead and are swipe up.

So now there is a memory process implemented that doesn't need to be. When your phone rings, regardless of app presenting the call to you, should all swipe in the same direction.

So unless OP can get Google and the rest of the apps out there to follow their direction (unlikely)… OP needs to fall in line.

It's just a more fluid phone experience.

Some might say "well, this phone or that phone is swipe right". And you'd be right.

But if you swipe up on those phones when a call is presented because you're used to swipe up, nothing happens. You don't accidentally reject a call like is the direct result here.
