Swipe right for google now

I'm begging you OnePlus, to include the choice of swipe right on homescreen for Google now instead of shelf. Everyone's like, install a different launcher, but I do not want a different launcher. OnePlus launcher keeps rounded app icons in the app tray and has the pixel style app tray. It's so close to being the perfect phone for me, but I just need Google now with swipe right to make it the best phone I've ever had. Please make this happen!

I agree. I would much prefer Google Now to be available on swipe right. What's there at the moment is pretty useless. Shouldn't really be hard to implement.

Hey I would suggest you to download LawnChair
I to want to keep full pixel like icons and all the notifications effect
I downloaded it yesterday and it's great, you get almost everything you can find in a default pixel launcher, plus it looks amazing on OP5.
To need more customization on icons , download Pixel Icon pack from play store.
    you'll definitely love it.

P.S. LawnCair is not on play store, search it on Android authority website or Facebook page.
Also you don't need to root your device.

What madness is going on in this thread?

Nova Launcher Prime supports the Pixel launcher style, it supports custom icon packs (so get a round one like Spheroid) and has loads more customisation. For the best access to Google Now, just put the Google search widget on the home screen. No swiping necessary - just touch the search bar to open a full page Google Now screen or touch the mic icon on the right to immediately start a voice search.

Lawnchair doesn't have enough features for me. Nova all the way. Circular animation when opening apps is a must! Plus so much more.

Add this Icon from the apps list to your home screen and just click it and you can see the magic with out an extra launcher app even it is from Google officially.

I'm new to OnePlus, with my previous 2 phones being Nexus 5 and 5X. I would prefer the option of swiping right for Google Now, or OnePlus Shelf. I've found Shelf of little use so far, and swiping right for Now is preferable to firing up Google, or installing other launchers. I liked the Nexus phones as I stayed vanilla, and would prefer the same with OnePlus. Just a preference, and one attraction to OnePlus 5T was the customization baked in.

A growing positive for me, and one of the reasons for buying the 5T was the "close to vanilla" Android. It seemed, and is confirmed, that OnePlus has added configuration options to Android (+++) and a few useful features such as reading mode, power off/on at select times, and others I'm finding as I use the 5T more.

I'm in exactly the same boat! I had a Nexus 5, and then 5X, and now I have a 5T. Have you figured out how to turn on the Google feed? I installed Nova Launcher and I see Google Now when I swipe right but it's completely blank. There are no cards. I have tried so many things but nothing seems to work. It keeps telling me that my account is not eligible for the feed. I miss having it! I would love to get it back. Please let me know if you figure out how to do it.

It wouldn't be fair to everyone. I might be a neat feature for some but for some of us we do not need it. I myself rarely use it. Definitely don't want it on swipe.

sdargani: do you have "google" app installed. [ upload_2018-1-5_9-30-24.png
Within the app I've set customized feeds to meet me interest. I have my gmail account linked to it. All worked fairly well when I migrated to the OnePlus 5T.

C151226215043: I was suggesting the option to have OnePlus Shelf or Google Now on left of home screen. As you note it is not for everyone, I for one find no use for Shelf, others may. Adding an option for Now is a plus, not a minus.

My appreciation of the 5T is growing. For me a smartphone is a great Personal Digital Assistant, plus easy and quick access to web, which in many cases is through an app. I'm not a gamer nor a social media user. Anyway, I find the OnePlus strategy of close to native Android with features/configuration options to enhance phone to my liking.
