2-3GB. It doesn't change much between versions of the OS.

By default the Android Pie OS or the system takes up 11 GB.... if its showing you over 20GB you need to clean up or remove the Junk files. The best method to do it is to use the Files Go app from Google i use a 256 GB OP6 and also 256GB OP7pro never used over 15% of storage as everything backs up on google drive and use mostly streaming services

Could you please post the screenshot of your storage page here for all of us to see...because if you are correct and @Kytharsis is lying then we must be living under the stone and you are about to reach a different galaxy altogether.

What are you even talking about? Proof of what? Have you even been following this thread?
The guy said that to free up storage on his phone he needed to "format" the phone.
Meaning factory reset. Because of some leftover Oreo extra files that are no longer needed, which don't exist in real life.

That is NONSENSE. People who advocate for factory resetting to solve any trivial problem, which can be solved in minutes while preserving all of their apps and settings, are usually idiots.

You can use Googles files GO app from playstore to locate big unwanted filed.

You know, I am always skeptical about these file cleaning apps/features. What if they delete something very important? Just saying.

The app just lists the files, it's the user who deletes them.. But it won't find old Oreo files tho, so if old system files are the issue OP is having then @Kytharsis solution is the best one.

EDIT: I'm also skeptical about cleaning apps in general, but this one is at least made by Google :)

Do you really think that Oneplus developers would make an update for the OS to Pie and accidentally leave old, now unused Oreo files to clutter storage? Such notion is ridiculous, as is the suggestion to Factory Reset as being the best solution to free up space.
