System Update for OnePlus TV Y Series[OTA1]

    Hi Everyone,

    We'd like to start by thanking you for your support and love towards our newly launched OnePlus TV U&Y series! We want to make sure our TVs provide you the best experience, so we'll make constant software development and updates to keep improving that experience.

    On 55U1, we offered the newest system, OTA5, a few days ago, you can find more details here.

    Now, we're pushing our first software version, OTA1, for the 43/32Y1:

    Change Log:
    • Integrated OnePlus Connect Service; you can start using OnePlus Connect app (both Android and iOS version) to control TV in this new system version.
    Please note: Only with the new software system, you will be able to use OnePlus Connect function. Please click here to check the instructions.

    As usual, the OTA will be incremental. That means the update will reach a small percentage of users today, followed with a broader rollout in a few days.

    The tv software is sluggish on 32". It stutter through out the interface. Disappointed with the input lag. I thought you guys would nail the software side. Hoping that you fix it.

    on the good side of things: The display and colors are very good.

    Got the update. The TV software feels laggy initially but it becomes "less" laggy after using it for some time. However, I can feel considerable lag while coming out of applications. It is not very bad but you can experience it some times while doing some specific functions. Example - Pressing the home button while in the YouTube app takes 2-3 seconds and the TV becomes unresponsive. I think this is something you will be able to work upon in the future.

    I saw the launch event and was impressed by the data save plus and eye protection feature and hence ordered Y series but was disappointed you haven't added that features in the TV. Also the TV lags in speed, it's too slow.
    Please bring it in future updates as you always do :)

    I recently purchased this 32inch tv and I'm pretty happy with that. The tv has so many good features. Still I could find some bugs in OS.
    1) When the TV is off, power button had to be pressed couple of times before the TV could turn on
    2) When the TV is off, Bluetooth keeps connecting back and disconnecting from TV (Alexa keep saying got connected to Oneplus TV every few mins when used as a external speaker even when TV is off)
    3)I am getting error while adding oneplus account in my tv. Please refere the attached image.
    4) TV also takes time to register inputs from OP Connect app. No keyboard on OP connect app.
    5) Customize Channels on the homescreen keeps getting reset
    6) Even when no input is connected to the TV, the TV boots to one of the inputs (HDMI/Channel Scan) instead of home screen.
    7) Menu button hardly has any use on home screen and only works when used with external inputs.
    8) There is no option to adjust colours/sound in realtime with hardware remote (i.e.while watching media on TV)
    9) Sometime OS lags when coming out from the app.
    10)I am unable to cast my screen with Google home and OP connect app even if my tv and phone are connected to same network, so one tutorial on this would be helpful.

    Kindly fix this issues.

    1 - Agree. I am also facing the same issue but this does not happen if you power off via remote and power on again.
    2 - Did not check
    3 - Give "Permission" to the OnePlus and it will be solved. I have tried and it worked. Maybe OnePlus team can fix it in the future update.

    5 - Not happening with me for now.
    6 - Yes, that is an issue and I think OnePlus should give option to remember previous input from memory after restart like in Q1.

    9 - Agreed. Already reported this.
    10 - Did not face this issue. I am able to use Chromecast without any issue as of now.

    How do you mirror cast your screen? I'm able to use Chromecast frog youtube but not from Google home and OP connect app.
    OP connect inputs to tv are delayed.it takes second to navigate.

    Which phone are you using?
    See if there are any updates available for Built-in Chromecast App on TV and Android Web View on your Phone.

    Agreed! The software lag in the Y1 32 is considerable and really dulls the user experience. Needs an update.

    Pertaining to #4, even I wasn’t able to log in my OnePlus account with the TV. Thought it may be resolved after I reset the TV. Worse happened - now there is not even the option to log in to OnePlus account, just the google accounts.

    Also, the Home button is not performing any functionality either. Tried it with many in-built apps and the home screen, no response.

    OnePlus Connect app doesn’t connect with the TV at all...tried it with an Android device and an iPhone - no connection at all. Says ‘No TV found to connect every time’.

    Well, I got my oneplus account logged in my tv. You have to download onplus tv shared album app from playstore and give permission to that and then u will see the option to login in your account.
    And for oneplus connect app u have to open connectserver app from tv and then try to connect OP connect app to tv.

    I'm using Black shark 2, can't mirror cast with OP connect app ,tried with other phones as well. I can now mirror cast through Google home app.

    Even i faced connect server issue

    Pls clear App cache of connect server on your TV amd try again. Also make sure both TV and phone are connected to same network.

    This worked for me.

    Y series comes with 8GB onboard storage and U series has 16GB onboard storage.
