Since the announcement this morning, is it safe to say the SA 5G radio will come to the international version soon, or on T-Mobile's firmware first?? What does that roll out look like??Thoughts??

So, I'm new to Android - this is my first time trying something outside the world of iPhone. I'm used to not having a carrier and an unlocked software version being different... Is it true that TMobile's version is getting a required update to support that stand alone network, and if so are the unlocked ones like my 8 Pro getting an update as well to support that?

The OP 8 Pro already works, sort of, see my reply here: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-8-standalone-5g-support.1275150/
And yeah, for some reason the aggregation/fallback to 4G/LTE is terrible, I get maybe 10-15 down, and about 0.5 on backhaul (upload), if I have 5G enabled, and it sees a tower, but can only find a usable 4G/LTE tower.

However, if I'm in a couple of local spots, near known-good 5G towers (including testing right in front of TMo HQ), I get decent speeds (around 150/50, about right for low-band), and fairly low latencies, in those isolated spots.

There's a LOT of work to be done here (I've filed a couple of bugs, with full logs, and suggest more do so, with the goal of "moving things along here...), most likely on both sides (TMo has some deployment to work on, too obviously).
Hopefully OP will start to fix the aggregation problems, on the 8-series, for the US version, soon.
