So... T-Mobile updated the phone to 9.0.1.

I don't know if it's current because no patch notes have been released yet but hopefully they managed to fix some of the bugs that we're ruining the experience. I just received the update at 6:00am so if you haven't received it... it may be rolling out. If I discover anything or find the patch notes... I'll post here.

Edit #1: It seems that the fingerprint sensor is much faster than pre-update.
Edit #2: The option to activate Google Assistant via the Power Button has been added to the Buttons & Gestures section within the settings.
Edit #3: Audio Tuner for Bluetooth Headsets has been enabled in this patch (A feature introduced in 9.0.7 for Unlocked Variants)

Tested my Bluetooth device to find that a feature in 9.0.7 is in this patch.
Bluetooth devices now have access to the Audio Tuner features.

Does anyone know what was in the update? I got a random reboot this morning and I got the "the phone was updated" message.

you don't NEED the updates RIGHT NOW. stop getting your wants and your needs mixed up. just because you want the latest update right now and demand it right now doesn't mean that you need it. I'd appreciate what you got and I'd appreciate that you actually get any updates whatsoever

No lie... This is VERY upsetting! What is the big deal with updates being so far behind? Several updates have already been pushed out to the unlocked version and only two for T-Mobile? And for some strange reason, it says version OxygenOS 9.0.1, not 9.0.7! I know that this is a problem with T-Mobile, but can someone in OnePlus please explain whether or not both devices will receive the same updates or not? We already understand the there will be delays. We can see that. But are the software differences that different? If so, then I will definitely be returning my T-Mobile OnePlus 6T and just cutting my losses with the trade-in value.
