T-Mobile OnePlus 7t Software Update via OnePlus Community App

  1. Brandonsmerry , via OnePlus Community App , Dec 26, 2019 :
It appears I'm the first one anywhere I can find that got an update to 10.0.05 today. not sure what the improvements are, as nothing appears to have changed. the update was 263mb, so I'm assuming it was more than just a security update (which did go to November from October). Even T-Mobile's website doesn't list my update as the most current version. Any ideas?

My 7T also just picked up the update to 10.0.5. The provided information does not provide much details on what changed besides the security patch update to November. I surely don't notice anything.

Please keep us updated on any issues, battery life, lagging, connection issues etc. as I too have the same model, but no update yet. I'm reluctant to update as I'm not having any issues, after having the phone for only 3 weeks. I'm really getting paranoid with device updates in my old age. Seen way to many updates break stuff. I'm happy with 10.0.4 so far.

Fixed it by clearing the storage on the Play Store app.

Thus far the only thing I've noticed is that I had to restart my phone after the update because it wouldn't recognize the network at all. After restart, everything was fine. nothing tangible thus far I can tell... today will be the first day of starting with 100% battery life after the update... we will see what happens, and I'll report back.

okay so I'm almost done with my day, but I'll post now, since I'm going to bed in about 2 hours. the battery life seems to be improved a little bit. while my screen on time was low for the percentage of battery, about 60% of my SOT was call of duty mobile. Here are the results:

Thanks, doesn't seem too bad. I didn't game at all today in mine but I think I have more screen time than you slightly...but not sure how this compares since but seems to adjust based on usage.

I never got a notification for the available update, but a manual check revealed it for me. Initially it said "Installation Paused" when the update appeared even though I didn't pause anything.

I was under the impression that OnePlus updated faster than this... Even through a carrier. Devices that aren't carrier locked are on 10.0.7...

I got the update (paused), never got notification though... As long as I don't resume, it won't like auto install or anything the next time I charge it or restart it, will it???
I kinda want to stay on 10.0.4 for awhile longer.
I'm worried it might have a time limit and then auto install or something also. Windows 10 has gotten me paranoid about updates lol.

I dumped Samsung due to their business plan of forcing people to buy the latest greatest by delaying updates forever.

I dumped Google phones because their updates, although very timely, usually were buggy and it took them forever to fix it. Serious things were sometimes not addressed.

I generally like OnePlus a heck of a lot better. But, WHY AM I ON NOVEMBER 2019 SECURITY UPDATE AT THE END OF JANUARY 2020?

Seeing as the topic states T-Mobile in the topic title, I would go ask them as they control their own updates not OnePlus.

Also OnePlus releases security updates every other month as stated in Announcements.

I did ask T-Mobile. They said that their updates come from OnePlus. Do you have different info?
