That was the 1st thing I tried and it didn't work. I'm seeing people having the same issue on other forums as well

I'm sure the issue will be fixed soon. It could also be something with Google Pay server side. Most Gapps are constantly updating server side.

Not the case. I contacted Google directly with my Google Pay account and they stated the new update makes your phone look like it's rooted and causes your phone to fail security protocols.

I'm having the same issue - updated today and no Google Pay anymore. Error states "You can no longer pay in stores with Google Pay". Google said "Google can't verify the security model" and referred me to OnePlus support, who said to "update to the newest version" 9.0.11 (which I think is the non T-Mobile equivalent version???). T-Mobile support walked through a few potential fixes with no luck, so no idea what to do next.

Sorry to hear the issues. Mine seems to be good. Any errors upon opening the app or is this during payment?

None. Works just fine. Went through a multitude of troubleshooting with TMO and nothing worked. Also spoke with OnePlus and Google and there is definitely an issue with the update.

So when does your error occur? I've updated and don't seem to have the same issue.

Try paying in store. A screen comes up with a big red exclamation point stating you can no longer use your phone for in-store purchases. The app works just fine.

My recommendation is for everybody to submit bug reports to Google Pay, T-Mobile and OnePlus. The more that go in the faster this issue will be reconciled.

Chatting with T-Mobile now about this and updates being pushed with no option for delaying reboot.

Nice to see that the T-Mobile (USA) certification process is working well!

The good news is that there should be another update in the very near future to fix the Google Pay issue and the Android Security patch might be updated from November 2018, at the same time. Fingers crossed.

Mine just updated on its own. It's weird that I get no warning or told what was updated. I have to come here to find out!
