Oh yeah, but if you can't really tell the difference up to a certain point, you should probably limit yourself to $200. There are some really good headphones for that price, but anywhere above it, I'd say, is only worth going if you have the setup to match it, meaning a good sound card (those are mostly called DACs if they're external) or amplifier or whatever.

I bought the Axel Audio Soundscapes on Kickstarter, arrived yesterday, the sound, amazing. They have 3 types of headphones and an app that analyzes your music preference and tells you which headphone fits you better.

Maybe you know massdrop, there the akg k7xx for 200 dollar and the fiio e10k amp/dac for 60 dollar(or a amp for 100 dollar)
Also the sennheiser hd 700 are great(very similar to hd 800 from design and only around 400euro or the hd 650 for 350 euro.
But you need also a decent amp and dac for this.

I have been in Audio a long time and used to resell at one point...mid to high gear, speakers but not headphones.

You already own the most cost effective best sounding Headphones in this price range to almost triple the price (don't debate me, really listen to them):). I am sorry Beat lovers but the 50 or now the 50x just can't compare. Beats did a great job at marketing and got people to wear head phones but....... These are very natural sounding and with good bass not overdone bass and great midrange. Just so you know also.......Audio Technica will sell you the actual speakers and pads and it is not that expensive to replace.

My son's pairn the wire cracked or he sat on them.....within warranty and they replaced not just the wire but the pads (with newer type, don't crack like the old ones) for free.

If your looking for a different sound signature Grado 125 or 225. Think the 125 might be discontinued. These are open back not closed like the AT, but very nice sounding if you like openness and don't mind people hearing your music.

Get a small headphoneamp like the Fiio and watch out!!): Hint...amazon has these packaged.

Sennheiser has some decent ones, Berienger (sorry spelling). First you should listen to them at a local audio place,, if you can ,so you can see if you like the overall sound. If you don't care for the Grado sound, it won't make a difference if you spend $100 or $500 on them.
