    We made a lamb tagine it was slow cooked.
    to be honest no. I found it very similar to a dutch oven.
    slow cooked for a lengthy time and the flavour will be there regardless

    I made Kachoris for snacks today, @Dresa91 was Interested so here ya go!

    Kachori / Fried Dumpling is an Indian origin, spicy snack, it is usually eaten in breakfast or in the evenings alongside tea. Although, you can eat this at all times. It's a tasy snack that can help kill your hunger!
    Let's start cooking!!!


    Things you need:

    Ingredients for 6 Servings
    • 2 cup all purpose flour (commonly maida)
    • 5 teaspoon refined oil
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt / according to taste.
    • 1/2 cup soaked (overnight) moong dal ( Petite yellow lentils Split and dehusked Mung bean)
    • 2 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
    • 2 cup chopped green chilli
    • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
    • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
    • 1 gram of asafoetida
    • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder (optional, I did not use)
    • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
    • 1/2 tablespoon cumin seeds
    • 2 cup refined oil
    • 1/2 cup water
    HOW TO MAKE:
    Step 1:
    Take a large bowl, add all purpose flour and mix with salt and oil.Add little water at a time and knead a soft dough. Cover the dough and keep it aside for 15 to 20 minutes.​


    Step 2:
    In the meantime, pre-heat a pan and add 3-4 tbsp oil in it. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, green chilli, coriander powder, fennel powder and saute the spices for few minutes. Now add soaked dal, salt, garam masala (a mixture of ground spices, such as cumin,coriander, and cardamom, used in Indiancooking) , ginger powder(optional) and red chilly powder.


    Step 3:
    Stir constantly and cook dal until it dries up. Allow it to cool and keep it separate.Now take one dough ball and flatten it with the help of your fingers/ a rolling pin). Fill it with dal stuffing (it's up to you, I prefer them filled up as much as possible) and make kachori by sealing the contents firmly. Repeat the process with other dough balls. Pre-heat oil in a shallow fry pan and fry the kachori till it turns golden brown. (Constantly keep turning them to ensure uniformity) Your crunchy Kachori is ready to serve. It tastes best when served with green coriander chutney or sweet chutney. Although I have them just like that! :p

    Are you sure about the 2 cups of chopped green chili?
    I mean that's a lot of chili and likely to set someone on fire.

    Like almost 200grams of chillies

    Well I was shocked too, when my mom suggested this. But she insisted and I did as she said!
    The chili mixes with the lentils and other ingredients well and the final product is not as horrifying as it would sound.

    It is a spicy snack so it has to be slightly hot.
    If you are hesitant then maybe go for 1½ cups, but I think it is suitable for most tastebuds, it isn't that spicy!

    It's not the amount of green chili which is the issue here, it's your antiquated measuring system.

    You have cups, tablespoons, teaspoons & grams all within the same recipe, wtf is that shit? This is unacceptable for a man of science like yourself, please convert to SI units as appropriate so that anyone trying this can obtain consistent results.

    Here's one I've been fond of for that past 30 + years....... Just keep mad scientist it and you'll find your perfect fit. My Dad came up with this 30 years ago and I've tweaked it a bit. Have fun......

    Chicken Rub

    2 teaspoon paprika
    1 tablespoon brown sugar
    2 teaspoon dry mustard
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon celery seed
    1/2 teaspoon thyme
    1 teaspoon kosher salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
    1/2 teaspoon ground marjoram
    1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

    Combine all ingredients in a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake to combine. Apply liberally to chicken, rub into pieces and tightly wrap the chicken in plastic wrap. Marinate in refrigerator for at least 24 hours. Smoke according to your favorite recipe and enjoy! Don't have a grill for cooking? Can't decide which to pick?     I have never been a fan. In my opinion, a pellet grill is far superior to any electric smoker, I have used. They are descent cold smokers, but you can buy an Amaze-N-Tray for $25 and turn any smoker into a cold smoker.

    I like to cook too! It's my hobby and it actually relaxes me. I like to cook healthy food, because I am a fitness trainer. I wanted to as you all, do you wear an apron when you're cooking ? Because I always wear my favourite best leather aprons when I am cooking. It's much more comfortable and effective.
