Maybe if your phone is locking, the connection stops ... have you tried by keeping the phone unlocked?

You may also want to try a different USB cord just in case. My sister was having that issue with a camcorder once and we found out it was the cord.

I still have this issue. I thought maybe my MTP/ADB drivers were messed up. Used 3 different usb cords including the original.

As soon as I go into TWRP, everything is suddenly fine and I can transfer 50GBs of video and music without a problem. Never had this problem on KitKat.

But with any Lollipop ROM (except Dirty Unicorns, interestingly enough), seems like I have to transfer under 1GB of data at a time. Anything more and it freezes.

I fixed this by creating a new folder copying all my music into that one, then renaming it to music.

All my music magically appeared in the Apollo after that!

Yesterday was flash day for me. I flash a bunch of ROMS...mostly CM-based or SlimRom-based. Kept running into this problem with each aand every one of them

You know I flashed Dirty Unicorns yesterday. all of a sudden this problem disappeared. Same with darkobas' ROM.

I'm convinced that it's CyanogenMod's fault...not my drivers or my USB port

I think OxygenOS does not have this issue. Nor Dirty Unicorns or Darkobas. But CyanogenMod-based ROMs and Slim-based ROMs (so that's like every ROM) definitely have this issue
