We'll it depends on where you live. Yes it is a status symbol but it is also a target. Have you ever heard the term "apple picking". People would target those with iPhones and take them. I would not want tell anyone to not get want they like but the so called status can be dangerous.

Alright, well, heres my view, Im ok with the 4.7 inch upgrade, but 5.5 inch..... Worthless, I dont want a 1080p phablet, I'll take the the 1440p note 4 thank you. Apple needs to stick with its perfect hand sized smartphone trademark.

Im ok with the hardware, but I woulda loved to see OIS, 1080p, and maybe a little bit more powerful camera. BUT software is my problem. Like sometimes, when you send texts with ios7, its not received, and stuff like that makes me angry. Release some stable software or just dont release it at all apple. Its not very customizable. It lacks on the app opening speed. Too many glitches, just **** that. and ios 8 isnt going to make it better.... at all.

I switched from iPhone to 1+1 'cause I knew I wouldn't be able to afford the 6 or 6 Plus [living in Europe, Apple's stuff is even more expensive than in the US] but I still appreciate 4 years I've spent w/ 3GS and 5 and I think iPhones were one of the best phones I've ever owned. I didn't miss any customization etc. and I don't think it needs 8-core processors to work well. It just... well, works. And a lot of people expect it to do just that. Like you said in your "rant post", most ppl don't care that their phone has the laser this and 4K that. They want it to work and be reliable and I can't think of a better phone than iPhone to do just that. Work, have accessories readily available even before the premiere&be deeply integrated within Apple ecosystem [for somebody like me who uses Apple products a lot, that's important].

Not necessary. Maybe you don't have time to mess with android. Maybe you like design of Apple products and OS stock graphic. Maybe you want a device that suits all your needs out of the box. Maybe you don't need multicore processor if the one you got have enough power for all the applications you use. Maybe you trust more Apple as the biggest and most valuable brand in the world then some small and new brand. Yes the price is high, maybe too high if you count production cost, but you must consider all aspect. Don't be narrow minded.

What about Samsung , HTC, LG aren't they one of biggest brands and most valuable in the world and can kick apples *** .people that I have talk to and asked why they bought a Apple phone and it was because of the symbol on the phone they didn't know what specs are or what the phone even can and can't do. I have used iphones they truly do suck .and there production cost are less than $200.00 per phone. what people are paying for is the cost of apples promos.

No. They are all big brands, but APPLE is most valuable brand officially.

I have never owned an iPhone, but many friends do. The ifony is definitely a gr8 phone. When you take the price / functionality into the equation I do think the OPO is hard to beat.
