the phone is fantastic but my only sorrow is that the back panel glass broke on one drop. pretty heart breaking. how do I fix it?

Hey @P1529008353999 I totally agree with you. I bet that OnePlus would have way to repair it, but what would be the cost? The only thing I could find is to prevent it from happening by using a case… too bad for the great design!

what people dont understand is that when u make a review u cannot say "i like that or i dont like that".
Something to be liked is very personal and subjective based in your life experience.
what You like i dont like and viceversa.

thats why are only a few who really knows how to make a proper review.

The phone performance is great but the portrait mode detection is the worst . Its software detection for portrait is worst.

Hey, I must say that I don't agree with you. An objective review is basically a spec sheet and all reviews would end up saying the same thing. What I like in reviews is finding someone who has the same interest as me, who use a phone in the same manner, who asks the same thing as me from his/her device… This kind of review would be useful to me. And this is why you often need several reviews to make your mind.

    So when you say
you actually express a personal point of view. Some people are actually looking for this. Also I believe that as Lab reviewers, we were asked specifically to give our personal impressions and feelings about the device, not just stating blank facts and develop a spec sheet.

I don't use it much but I noticed some miss indeed but I also had a couple good results. On the positive side, as you said, it is software related so we can hope for future improvements!

    no You got IT wrong.
i dont want a specs sheet, i want You to tell if the specs are working. how the camera works above specs, how the device works, how IT feels in hand, in day by day use, etc

this want i want to hear, not If i like IT or not.

it's a pretty decent phone that will not get any update from oneplus after 12 months. like all other oneplus phones.

Well my previous phone is a OnePlus 3 and I got an update like 3 weeks ago. It brought for example the Face Unlock feature. The OnePlus 3 being almost 2 years old, I'm affraid you're wrong.

I must say that I agree on the battery part. Sadly this part of hardware does not tend to improve over time. However I had no other particular issue with this update, including the fingerprint scanner. Did you try to clear the cache of the phone after installing?

Almost actually, it was on the 11th of January it seems. So I can agree on the fact that frequency of the updates is decreasing, but it's kind of logical since there are other devices to support, it is part of the lifecycle of a product. And this last update proves that OnePlus is not completely forgetting older consumers which is not the case of some other brands.

other brands like apple is still providing updates to a 2014 iPhone 6 whereas oneplus is not able to provide good support to 2016 November launched phone(oneplus 3t).
