I think that this happened because it was a beta product. All the other reviews I've seen are snappy and whenever they click the home button, it's instantaneous. MKBHD, was the only one to get a beta unit, so that's my answer ;)

Already been claimed by a friend. However I may just print it out and do a public sacrifice to the phone gods.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but what do you use NFC for? I am genuinely curious.

Car doors automatically unlock and the internal alarm sensors are disabled when I stand next to the door, and it wont start unless i put my phone onto the centre console. (can bypass the kill switch with a 16 digit code on touchpad under the dash)

My front porch door opens when I stand next to it.

    Both arduino projects.

I used the phone at a pop up event and can assure you that there is no delay. Button is very responsive.

Why? if they get hold of my phone I guess they could sit in the car for about a min before the alarm goes off. If the alarm fob isnt pressed and the key isnt inserted after a min then the doors relock and the sensors come back online.

And the porch door may open to provide easy entry to the porch when its raining the the main door is still locked, that is protected by keypad or key unlock system (this one I couldnt do myself because the insurance company wouldnt insure us without the approved locks on main doors, and windows)

sell the invite for 100$ (some fanboy will pay as much, trust me), then get 100$ worth of NFC chips and send them to OnePlus headquarters. Maybe they will get the message.

hmm thats not a bad idea, except I will make a USB C powered NFC board that can be gluded to the back of the phone :) just did the costing and its only $9 for everything plus my time doing the soldering and software :)

get a patent on that, OPT NFC 3rd party HW and SW, sell that shit to the masses. I get 15% of your anual earning for being the mind behind it. We make such a good team.

Now seriously, that is cool and sad at the same time. Cool that you take the time and effor to go upfront against such challenge. Sad... well... because a ******* flagship should not be a boat, and come with NFC by default.
