    Other Product software testing is coming, but we are starting small scale with the OnePlus 3 first.

    Root does not interfere with anything except the app requests superuser rights.

    PS:
    Do you currently own a op3?
    ---> YES

    Well, I do own one, but you only have a few hours left for me to receive it ion order to be on time delivery OnePlus! so there should be no problem, right? RIGHT???? ;)

    But any app with root rights could interfere with everything else. Things like Xposed are deeply integrated into system and can introduce big problems, if not corresponding to underlying system.

    That's why there are 50 or so people being picked to see what went wrong and why. Or what the user did and how to reproduce it so developers can keep that in mind (even tho it's not their job to fix stuff other apps break, it's only a nice addition if they try to do so).

    I dont think TWRP or root is by definition bad to test software. IF you know what you are doing.
    Installing Xposed with some modules is probably the worst you can do, when testing new android OS's.

    edit: for example if you only use root for titaniumbackup , should not be a problem

    For things like this MultiROM support would be nice but it seems that OnePlus devices aren't receiving too much love here from the original MultiROM developer.
    Would be nice to have like a Test-Android and a Daily-Use-Android, especially with 64GB of storage :) Enough space for both.

    In that case yes, of course. Like with any root or admin account on any OS - you have to know, what you are doing. If you don't, you shouldn't do it.:sweatsmile:

    Don't own a 3 and if I did it would be my daily driver so couldn't take chances with beta SW, although I'd like to :)

    I think this is a cool idea especially since the company will be informed of bugs directly and fix them faster
