It's just how it is, the later a smartphone is revealed, the better it is, in general. The technological developments are taking place at such an enormous high rate that a one year old smartphone may already seem outdated. incredible!

I agree with you here also. They're too late and there's clearly signs of poor production. Users of the 100 received just a phone. No charger / no sim tool & an apology that due to rushing these orders they felt the consumer would be happy at least receiving the phone...... Wtf? lol

They've made a decent device here, but have zero knowledge on mass production, operations, & shipping/receiving. I think they rushed into the market with a great idea. However, they should have locked down production on the 100 units prior to having the contest. They should have had a SET release date and had more/better opportunities to gain more invites. I'm telling you there will be more delays on this devices release date. Especially for the 64GB model. I'm a cloud ERP specialist, specializing in operations, production management, & producing goods for automotive etc... I've seen this before as a consumer and mobile tech junky. It's not looking good.

I believe it's going to be 399$ off contract. However, I'm not positive. That too is only a rumor. Yes it's a bit more. However, you'll actually be able to purchase one lol. The moto maker is pretty cool and you'll have a lot of customization as far as the design of the device. I also HIGHLY recommend the Moto G. Lower specs, but has the replaceable backings, guaranteed updates, & is now available with LTE. I had the 3G model and it was rather amazing. That device is only like 200$

Hmmm, until the Nexus is out, or Google confirm it, the specs are pure guesswork...

Don't want lower specs. Want higher specs or it's a deal breaker.

Apparently, all recipients of the first 100 phones were made aware that the chargers etc we're coming separately.

OP are apologetic, but clearly caught out by the scale of interest they've generated. I'm cutting them some slack for this. At least they're posting info which is more the Google ever do with their product launches!!

I don't think Google will do away with the Nexus line. Especially since they still have a contract with LG until 2016.

They may change the naming convention. I believe we'll see a similar, but much improved Nexus device either way.

I'm pretty content with my new HTC One M8 at this point. I no longer have the patience for this devices rumored release date. I'm looking forward to other devices such as iPhone 6 (air), Nexus 6, new Moto x, and even Google's new Project Ara (Phoneblocks). I don't foresee this being successful if they don't release very soon. It's becoming somewhat of a trend for low cost, mid range devices. However, there's a reason that true flagships stay at the top. OnePlus - Get your production in order. Establish a true business plan for contending with the flagships to come. Overall, release this damn phone to the public already. Maybe, just maybe, you could have been a flagship killer. However, that time has since passed. You can't release a "Flagship Killer" just shortly before the top flagship companies release their new devices. Apple, Samsung, Motorola, & LG will crush you. Good luck.

Consumers would be less angry if there were more substantial updates, chances for invites, & a concrete release date. Sometime in June points to a delay in production in June to sometime in July or August. Next thing you know, a variety of new, better, flagships are released. Thus the "Flagship Killer" committing suicide to it's own "Flagship".
