I just received my new Beyerdynamic DT 880 headphones, the 600Ω version. Normally the volume should be very low when plugged into a mobile phone with such a high impedance.

Though, I still tried to plug it to my OPO, just for the fun of it... and.... It works beautifully! Sound is loud and crisp. Hifi sound on my phone!

That's quite a surprise that the OPO can handle that kind of headphones. Normally one would need a headphone amplifier to hear the sound at a normal level with high impedance headphones. Well, with the OPO you don't need to!

Listening to music for an hour and the phone just lost 2% battery with the big headphones plugged in. So far so good :)

    Thanks OnePlus!

    Sounds great!
But did you try installing an additional equalizer? "AwesomeBeats" sounds promising. I'd give you a direct link but I do not know if external links to other forums are allowd. So just google it - it's free :)

No additionnal equalizer. I'm just using Paranoid Android 4.6 beta 5, and Poweramp without any equalizer set.

No custom equalization? You don't know what you're missing! To each his own, but to be truthful, you know each brand of premium headphones has their own equalization amplification system in them already so I guess you probably don't need anything added on top of that.

Viper4Android is hands down the best sound enhancement system I've ever heard on any mobile device! I have $15 pair of bluetooth stereo headphones that sound like what you paid for your headphones!

    I'd still use an amp..
I think you will hear a difference, and it won't be small.

    That's right :) Still I wasn't expecting loud levels with 600 ohms :)
