As you can read in the main post they thought about having 2 USB type-C
Now that's a good call, this is honestly the first time since the One that I'll be following closely what's to come!
Some serious thoughts have gone in why headphone jack should be kept.
I am happy oneplus could provide a logical and very sensible reasons here.
Thanks for the update @Pete
It's probably the 'not-worst' decision today:
1) USB-C is great but no charging while listening
2) Bluetooth would be my preferred choice, but many people complain about the current quality of sound.
Welcome in 2017 when the CEO has to make an official statement about keeping the headphone jack.
Because this is the first time OnePlus confirms the new phone, and that still to be released, but we already know it will keep the phone jack.
Disappointed. Will not buy
Because you don't know the jack phone yet...
But that post was by Pete.
Thanks for confirming the 5T!!!
Perfect! Thanks for explaining your reasoning. While admittedly I prefer using Bluetooth in general, if I am on long trips or am unable to recharge my headphones, or if I need to share my music with someone at the gym, the headphone jack has been a lifesaver. I'm glad you are keeping it.
Removing head jack is a bad idea, unless you are giving users an USB C -> AUX adapter with the new phone without charging extra money for it.
Finally !!! Good decision to keep up 3.5 audio jack as many got addicted to that. Type c jack really sucks as i have seen leeco device users cannot enjoy same while charging.
Great thought. I have lost several type c adapters so I know the pain, and not to mention that can't listen to stuffs and charge at the same time.
Personally pretty happy with this. Having a headphone jack does & will influence my decision to buy my next smartphone.
so OP 5T has been confirmed
YES! Great decision!
And thanks for confirming the 5T.
Personally, I like a bit of bulk to my phone, so no need to remove the jack.
Maybe even put in a larger battery
So... Since you ”care" so much about what the users think...
A bigger battery?
Thinner bezels (no, not this 5T, 10% reduction crap)..
You're keeping the jack because of the negative PR. Nothing else.
Good. There's still literally no justifying the removal of the headphone jack. None.
Next, it would be great if the 5T retained the front fingerprint sensor. So, basically a Galaxy S8 with stock-like Android.
following to confirm.. RELEASE DATE!!
