The OnePlus 8T is the best OnePlus so far. Here's why.

I need to charge multiple devices at once, through 1 charger. The OnePlus 8 warp charger has only 1 port, so not suitable.
Hence, I have always used QC 3.0 and 4.0 certified chargers, right from my LG days, and now OnePlus (7 pro and 8 pro), for charging devices in the family.
My experience is that proprietary chargers do some 'twist' and do deliver very marginal fastness over QC certified chargers, which are more 'steady' and hence make the battery last longer.

yeah, oneplus doesn't offer a multi device charging station. QC is more widespread than VOOC or PumpExpress. use what works for your application.

You can do the incremental update to 11.0.5.6 on the 8T. The 8 Pro does not yet have 11.0.5.6 update

I disagree with you quite a bit. In india it cost $570 and it is best phone to buy but the camera is not that good as compared to s20 FE and wireless charging isn't there. OnePlus 8 pro is the best complete phone they sell right now curved display is not that good but it is a great phone with everything top notch at just $750 that's awesome dude It doesn't have any drawbacks

I'm just curious as to doesn't the punch hole selfie camera bother you at all?
I mean I absolutely HATE notches and these camera cutouts, for me the best design before oneplus 7 pro was the Samsung Galaxy S9. But I mean isn't it annoying when you can't really use your whole screen to watch a video or a movie without that selfie camera just ruining the otherwise amazing experience?
I got myself the 7 Pro and I just can't see myself using a phone with a notch or a punch hole selfie camera, it seems so last gen compared to the 7 pro.
Not trying to say that the 8T isn't the best Oneplus so far but I'm just curious.

    Hey Jakss,
I work in tech and am glad to hear that your 7 pro has been working for for you my friend.
I was reluctant to purchase the 7 pro and worried that the selfie motor drive would not take my Dailey abuse.
I will say that having the selfie hole punch not in the center of the screen is working for me. The offset location doesn't take up the middle phone screen real estate. If you keep the hole punch on the bottom while viewing video in landscape it becomes "almost" forgotten.
I really would like to see another retractable selfie cam, but it seems that hiding it in a bezel with some sort of mirrored/smoked glass could be next in our future...

I was going to buy an 8T - not now. Two issues will prevent me from buying - the burn in issue and a lack of wireless charging. I don't like the curved screen of the 8Pro - oh well. Maybe the 9T will support wireless charging.

Thanks I've been following this kind of detailed stuffs.
Been watching also many YouTube reviews about this phone. And finally after a long saving of money despite of pandemic. My girlfriend and I decided to choose OP8T as our newest part of the family. Now we're exploring it and customized to make the phone standout to the maximum level. I thought I can't come back since my last OP device was OnePlus 3/3T.

Burn in issue? With this phone charging from 0 to 100 in under 45 minutes, I was ok making the purchase, despite the wireless charging. Coming from a Galaxy S9 this phone is buttery smooth.

I think its the worst purchase i have made for my one plus phones. It is certainly not upto the mark.

    Issues i am facing -

    1) Slow scrolling speed and pls i have it setup at 120HZ. Still scrolling speed is slow. My old OP6 gives better speed.

    2) Face Unlock doesn't work in the dark room even with full brightness. Again, my old OP6 does open up with least brightness.

I guess this is the worst experience I've had with oneplus phones thus far. I am packing this device and using my OP6 which is still much much much better than the new OP6. I have used oneplus 1, 3, 6, also have 7T and now 8T.

If oneplus makes any changes or resolve issues in next software update then will start using it again. Till then oneplus 8T is boxed again.

I've owned the OnePlus 6, OnePlus 7 Pro, and the OnePlus 8T, not to mention a number of phones over the last two years by other brands (Samsung, Sony, LG).

I'd say that aside from the fast charging, the OnePlus 7 Pro was better. The 90 Hz display was fast and crisp, unlike the 120 Hz here on the 8T. It says the 120 Hz functionality is adaptive; that it works based on "scenarios". The scenario seems to be that when scrolling through a page, the scroll speed starts off slow and then speeds up to 120 Hz as you keep scrolling. I don't like this at all. I prefer the way it worked on the 7 Pro, where 90 Hz was always active if you chose that option. Too bad something went wrong with the mic on that phone and people can't hear me properly anymore.

Next year, I will be switching to the Samsung flagship once again. Aside from Bixby, I like their phones better overall.
