From what is said there is no actual release date as yet, and the planned availability doesn't mention the UK in the early stages. Still waiting patiently for my op2 invite.

I notice that the fingerprint scanner is on the back. Not seen that before, but makes sense. The more i read about it the more i love it.

It's definitely a phone I'll want to buy. If we can put Cyanogenmod on it, they got a buyer.

Nope, doesn't have the bands for true global footprint. Phones produced in China, due to the communist closed nature of that country, are more than likely STRICTLY monitored to ensure that they cannot be used "globally" to make sure the news & free information from OUTSIDE the country, doesn't get floated around INSIDE the country. Hong Kong is one of a few countries that somewhat allow information flowing both ways, simply because it makes money for the communist country. Plus, I'm sure there is some hankie-pankie going on between the USA carriers & manufacturers. Your Apple/Samsung's still, due to the stupid 2 year contracts in the USA, have a pretty tight control of the market, and perhaps due to some underhanded payments to the FCC, restrict how many phone manufacturers "can" do business in the states. Hopefully, with the break starting in the 2 year contract starting to FINALLY be a thing of the past, people won't be willing to part with 600,700,800 or more for an iPhone/Galaxy whatever, even if spreading it out over payments, it will allow the import of more devices, thus, bringing the price down. I'm hoping that over time, pretty much ANY retailer will start selling phones in mass. Once your Costco's, Walmarts, Targets etc, start selling, due to their buying power, the prices will come down to a more reasonable level.
It happened here once before. Remember when "cordless phones" were well over $200.00? Now you can pick them up for less than $40.00 in some cases.
