    It's been an year exactly 10 days ago, I've been using one plus 5 since September last year. Is it some auto destruct or what ? After just completing an year my battery drains like a rocket{this speed i don't need} it's not making even a mere 2 hour span. And I can now use this phone to heat water as it is water resistant. It's heating like hell. I don't know how to respond to this situation. I am just wondered why is it happening now exactly after a year. Is it with just this device or every device made by you behaves the same ? So, what should I do now ? Please concentrate on us too.

    settings>storage>cached data.

    shutdown your phone. after 2 minutes, press volume down button+ power button together. this will take you 2 a recovery mode. there decrypt your device by entering password or pattern. there u will find wipe data and cache. go into that and clear only cache

    it's been 15 mins and 5% drained even after normal use. All i did was what you told me to do so and nothing else. I just wiped the cache.

    Try putting a cat in a paper bag and swing it around your head.

    That will fix it right? Why do people always want to blast away the cache every time they have a problem. The most common reason for low battery excessive heat is some idiot wiping the cache! The second most common reason is an app.

    Unless you are willing to figure out what your phone is doing and why, then you might as well find a cat. It's just as likely to work as any of the other tricks people say to use.

    And incidently, the cache in storage settings is different from what is wiped in recovery. Totally different things for different purposes.

    I don't understand why my android system is taking 56% of battery when no app is running in background?

    If possible, reset your phone to factory settings. As Android usage is 56%, there might be virus in your phone.
    This will be the solution you'll be getting from Technical Support Team of Oneplus as well.

    You can try to turn off background activity of "Android System" and check.

    Settings-->Battery-->Android System

    For my phone, "Android System" usage is only 3%.

    You have a huuuge Android system wakelock, install Better Battery Stats and see what rouge background service, or app, that is causing it.
