I personally feel cheated with such amount of money spent and getting literally a trash camera like this one! The macro photography, I don't really know what is the problem with this stupid little camera, unable to focus, rounding and blurring off the background (see the first one), the subject is trash, wish I could unsee it. And the nightscape, what in hell is wrong with the OnePlus guys working there.. I mean the photos coming out from the nightscape is simply not visible, it's black, it's grainy, it's bad, and everything bad you can guess. Normal camera with flash off is taking much better photos than nightscape. Seriously, OnePlus? Got any answers for this? Shame on you guys! [e]1f44e[/e]

    Attaching all the photos.

There are enough threads related to this issue. I am also frustrated with the camera, specially the image quality. I don't know whether OnePlus is working on a fix. As you have pointed out the macro camera shots are very bad, front camera images are very soft. One popular suggestion / workaround is to install the gcam port. I felt like the gcam app is very buggy, sometime crashes admist of recording a video. Thus, Gcam is not a proper solution. But we invested a lot in the phone, many would like stock camera to work better. What we are paying for includes the camera software as well. OnePlus though has refrained from acknowledging the issue.

This camera experience ruins an otherwise wonderful phone.

I don't know why many YouTubers or reviewers never speak about this issue. If anyone from OnePlus team is seeing, this is not a rant but we need a proper solution for this issue. The photos taken from OP8 at best comparable with mid range devices, heck even redmi's note 8 pro has a 2mp macro, but it takes better pictures with macro lens. I don't know what OnePlus has done with the powerful spectra 480 ISP of snapdragon 865.

OnePlus please do take this issue in to consideration.

I'm having same issue, this phone is supposed to have comparable cameras to the note 10 series, galaxy series, etc. For the price we paid for this phone we should have better service and updates. I could have paid $100 more and gotten the note10+ it's ridiculous

I have also noticed this, along with the colour filter. I feel like it is always shooting in cool colours. I try to shoot sunrise or sunset and the colours are nothing like what I'm seeing in the sky. My bf shoots with an iPhone 11 and gets better quality than I do when it comes down to this. The sky IRL is orange and red and in my photos it is blue and pink. It is decent for a basic photo but overall I paid for what I was expecting to be a decent camera among other issues with this phone as a whole. It's frustrating and means I always need to carry my actual camera with me still.
