    Since Google is interested in promoting VR with their Cardoard, they could provide OnePlus the expenses for another 30000 of free Cardboards for people who want so much to play with it. It mustn't cost too much anyway.

    Google doesn't really have any good reason to do so...
    Google makes the open sourced project + templates and lets others actually make it and sell the cardboards.
    Simply put; Google is not a hardware company.

    Since there are SO many people who still want the Cardboard (to see OnePlus 2 presentation too), what keeps OnePlus from going ahead selling them at the price of production cost + shipping.

    People are still going to buy it for sure! I mean what one Cardboard could cost to make - like 1$? I believe even less.

    Well they have to. I'm pretty sure there's going to be a cap on the number they produce. Even if it's just 2 bucks per unit if a hundred thousand units are ordered that's $200k cash money out the door

    Some of you people - do you even read before commenting?

    Anyway, they could make like another 30000 round at (cost to produce one Cardboard)+shipping - 100% people will still buy it, and they will love OnePlus for this.

    (I myself already ordered one, so it is not about me)

    Sorry I came across wrong. It was released as a limited edition by oneplus. I would prefare if everybody that wanted one got one but I guess that when they are making a Loss on each one they cannot afford to give everybody one.
