Thinking about rooting my phone, any suggestions of what I should do?

I rooted my OnePlus 2, but the fingerprint was already dead so I didn't really lose anything from doing it, but this time around on my OnePlus 3 I don't want to do anything major that'll cause me to lose dash charge or anything.

I reckon I'll just root the phone and use Oxygen OS, but are there any other modifications I should make? I don't want to lose dash charge or the the fingerprint scanner, or anything else, for that matter, so only things that add functionality, not things that have trade offs that involve major features.

I'd want to root my device to install xposed, but I use my phone as my work phone and it wont work if its rooted

You'd have to be very unlucky to damage your op3 doing that IMO. I've done allsorts and I had zero experience before.

You lose access to Android pay (may be able to hide root using magdisk). Perversely I also lose access to FP login on NatWest banking app, FP still works elsewhere.

I'm not worried about damaging anything, some ROMs said they don't have dash compatibility and on the OP2 some didn't have fingerprint compatibility.

I don't care about android pay, I can't use it anyway on my card and don't trust tap and pay shit anyway, let alone when I have other people's fingerprints added to my phone cause I have nothing on there worth protecting from my friends.

I'm currently doing a backup, I'm fairly sure I'll be sticking with Oxygen so I can keep the decent camera (using the google camera on my OP2 was terrible, and the Hydrogen one was bad too), any good ROMs other than Oxygen? If I can keep the Oxygen OS camera I'll use a different ROM for sure.

No idea, I don't have an OP3 yet but from what fellow flashaholics tell me , no, OOS is still better than most ROMs. Best you wait until there's a decent ROM out as far as I can tell.

Cool, I'll stick with Oxygen with Xposed for now, then.

    What's that?

EDIT: It looks like some audiophile shit, which is all well and good, but utterly useless for me- I use cheap $12 headphones cause they break within a month every time and I can't justify buying a new pair of good headphones that often.
