    I am using Nova launcher.
    The red one is still there - and it is okay.
    But I do not have any reading problem with that ...

    Not really. Lock screen is *not* managed by launcher, widgets aren't part of it too (but you're free to use different clock widget).

    Works great if you have tons of patience to set it up :)
