Display This new "blue flash" whole-screen notification?

    G_John_D_mLjc , Oct 28, 2021 :
Just updated my 1+6 to 11.1.1.1 and immediately noticed every time I get a notification, the whole edge of the screen flashes blue.
Quite pretty and certainly eye catching but I'm not sure I'd always want something so obtrusive.

I cannot find any obvious setting for this in screen, background or notifications... does this have a name and can I configure it? Is it an Android feature or an OxygenOS one?
I was also trying to see if the color can be adjusted - be nice if it matched my chosen accent color.

    Thanks.

    The name is "Horizon light".
And you can configure it. ;)

    Congrats!
It is not that easy to see it. Because it flahes only once and for a very short time.
So you got to see it just the second it occured.

    Yep, it's called "Horizon Light".
To activate/deactivate it just go to:
    - Settings
    - Customization
    - Horizon Light (scroll right)

LOL I'd never think to try scrolling that section - thanks.

So, I can choose a few colors but it seems that's the only configuration - I cannot turn it off, change the duration/brightness and so on?
I wonder if it turns off with night-time mode.

Anyway now I know what it is I'll google it. Thanks again.
