Oh.. Thank you very much. This seems to have fixed the low volume issue on 25R. I reeeallly appreciate that you took the time to develop this little tool. I don't want to update yet till a fairly stable OTA with good battery life is released.

This little fix has allowed me to enjoy this phone as is for the time being.

    Thanks again

Can anyone else update their One to 3O0 after doing this volume tweak? Files has been overwritten and device has an error when trying to perform a system update.

This modifies a system file (mixer-paths.xml). OTA updates notices that system files are not what it expects and stops. Unfortunately you need the original mixer-path file. should be a backup copy in root/system/etc.

Not sure if you are still watching this thread but Thank You. I did not use your program, but the fact you explained how/where to find it was a godsend. I used root explorer and now I can hear my phone. Good luck and I hope in time I can code like this as well.

Whoever did this volume fix, are you able to update your OPO to Android 4.4.4 & 38R?

    Gives me an error tmp/sideload/package.zip

I tried to replace the mixer_paths.xml file but it wouldn't let me unless I am rooted.

Indeed the 38R OTA update wants to change the file, as this diff snippet shows:
    < <ctl name="RX1 Digital Volume" value="84" />
    > <ctl name="RX1 Digital Volume" value="90" />
    < <ctl name="SLIM_0_RX Format" value="S24_LE" />
    < <ctl name="RX3 Digital Volume" value="84" />
    < <ctl name="RX4 Digital Volume" value="84" />
    > <ctl name="RX3 Digital Volume" value="92" />
    > <ctl name="RX4 Digital Volume" value="92" />
    < <ctl name="SLIM_0_RX Format" value="S24_LE" />
Perhaps a reversal tool by the author of the original tool would help...

    Hello everyone.
    For me it worked.
I noticed that the problem of low microphone disappears if during normal phone conversation I put my finger on the microphone located on the right rear of the camera.
The sound quality immediately improves and becomes excellent.

I think it might be interesting for developers to program switching off the microphone back during normal phone call.

What do you think about that?

Oh, it works on 44S? Is root required?

I did it with a flashable zip on xda lol
