I am using OnePlus 8T and since I first bought this phone I am facing issues in touch. Especially in the right bottom corner of the screen. To reproduce this, please try recording audio in whatsapp chat without extended keyboard and then my device recognises touch after I release finger but it is not getting hold.

Please let me know if this is issue with my device or if any recommendations from you.

Is the issue only with WhatsApp?
Do you have touch problem with other apps in the same area( bottom right corner)?

Yes, but I've already figured that out.. if it was to affect the touch, it would have affected the left bottom of the screen too. But as more people have faced this, I'll try and turn Google Assistant off and will post if it helps.

Turning Google Assistant off also does not help, I believe the bottom corners are dead zones for touch, as even if I try inputting touch and hold, the mobile perceives as a touch input as soon as I release finger after the hold.
The issue can be overcomed enabling either the fixed navigational buttons or the navigational gesture bar, as in these cases the bottom corners are trimmed(un-interactive). Unlike when bottom bar is hidden for full-screen experience (like in my case).

If you read through the threads here, there is a sensitivity with the edge of the screens in both OP8 and 9.

It is more prominent towards the bottom of the screen.

Id suggest you log it as a bug if you find it frustrating.

I have the same issue, for example when fast switching between instagram accounts. I think it's because there is swipe action from corners for google assistant. i haven't found a way to fully disable google assistant. even when there is no default Assistant, there still swipe from corner registered.

This is how it looks: https://streamable.com/ctqslm

It is second OP8T with the same issue, and it's a shame because apart from the touchscreen and some software bugs it is fantastic device at a great price nowadays. After all I will probably have to switch to samsung...

Looks like some apps have moved buttons higher, and some have disabled "hold" menus all together. So its not only OnePlus problem.
for example Instagram have made user account icon bigger and higher and fast switching between accounts works again!
