It's the same chip as the oneplus 6 so it's also like that with the oneplus 6

OnePlus, Vivo and Oppo are from the same grand company (BBK Electronics Corporation). So, they will always be similar.
I see OnesPlus brand as a refined one from the other two.

The in-display fingerprint was not mature enough for the latest OnePlus devices. The OnePlus 5T was supposed to already have the technology, although it was still very risky for a feature not enough tested.
So now it is finally mature. Think of the OnePlus 7... This will certainly be a great phone.

Its the eternal war between both teams, and both will have always the reason on their side. :p Personally I've never been the biggest fan of the back sensor, and in the op6 is the face unlock that saves me most times. I guess only if Oneplus kept the back FP sensor also it would make the most happy. :D

BTW, I never needed two hands to unlock the phone with the front FP sensor. Not sure how you are doing that. :p

See, even you quotes can answer to yourself... :p ;)

The truth is that different people want different things, and it will always be hard to make everyone happy. Oneplus is betting that most people has now moved (or getting ready to move) to wireless audio and have stop caring about the jack. So they are using that space to bring better battery and new tech.

For some that's definitely truth (I'm one of them and since I got the op6 haven't used its jack once even though I listen to a ton of songs everyday on my phone with spotify :p ). But for others, the jack is still an essential thing, and they aren't ready to let it go.

So in the end of the day, people will just have to choose with their wallet, and I'm sure that will show if OnePlus was right on going to that change or not.

    Actually... no.

Having it on the front makes it way more accessible and comfortable.

I'm scared it'll be slow and easily fooled. People say optical in-display FPS's are bad...

Anyway, kind of a meh feature. I'd rather have stereo speakers or a headphone jack..

The first generation ones were but slow and inaccurate ,but when Oneplus adopts some technology hope they will care the technology to match the speed of their devices , I do t think it will be bad , Maybe OnePlus will be inspiration for many companies to put a fast onscreen FP in their devices
