    I didn't ask this question but its a good one and thanks for the replies. We here in Canada have the highest cell phone bills on the planet. Roaming charges in the U.S. for us are huge.
    This is a big help, buying a SIM card down there and simply exchanging it for mine when I go south...which is often.

    P.S. I wonder what extra costs there are if we're calling/texting TO Canada though. Hm

    My add-on in Ontario is $40 and you get virtually nothing for it.

    Cricket $50 for one month 5gb LTE then slow as well unlimited all no contracts get a sim and throw it away they also just took over at&t antennas so excellent reception as well texts to Canada all including ... Enjoy

    Don't use tmobile if you're traveling. Coverage area is too small. Any of the prepaid AT&T carriers will be fine, like Cricket or Straight talk.

    It seems that these U.S. sim card plans cost more because I'm looking for one I can call/text from the U.S. to Canada which is technically International since I'll be in the U.S. at the time.
    I will keep it in mind though and call around to find the best deal.

    My plan has it built in. That is the only reason I'm with wind. Is cause the amount of travel I do.
