Unless your headphones supports the codec you are selecting, or else, it will change back to default.

No. Your audio device will automatically select the best quality codec that it's capable of using. If you can't change it, it's because your audio device doesn't support it.

Indeed, if it's compatible with APT-X, go to Settings > bluetooth > LG HBS730 > gear > Audio HD: Audio Qualcomm AptX

That headphones doesn't support any other codec than SBC. So naturally, you can't change it.

Were you able to get this resolved? I'm having the same issue right now on my OnePlus 7 Pro. I just updated it to Android 10 (NOT beta version), and I'm unable to change and save the Bluetooth Codec I desire.

I'm using a Radsone EarStudio ES100, which supports LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC. It defaults to LDAC, but I'm unable to change it. I wanted to change it to aptX HD, for watching movies, but it just defaults back to LDAC.

If someone can help me out here I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

What are you talking about? I'm replying to an existing forum that someone else created. The title of this forum is, "Unable to change Bluetooth codec" and I was unable to change the Bluetooth codec on my phone as well. So how is this not the correct forum? Lol

Doesn't matter anyway, I was able to find the solution myself.
